The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

Traveling with my father for his first time in Asia Pacific. Booked the Fullerton because of location and historical importance and on a friends recommendation. Confirmed in person at the hotel that we would have a bay facing room with 2 beds last week when I was in Singapore on business. Arrived 45 minutes ago to be checked-in, great... then walked to the elevator at which point they told me they have a single bed room with marina facing view while the room with 2 beds was being cleaned. I said, no, don't worry about it, we'll go run some errands and grab a coffee and come back to our room rather than go to one only to be moved to another in an hour or so. We come back from our walk 30 minutes later, they have a room... walk us to the elevator and tell me that they have a room with 2 beds but interior facing... and sorry, no 2 bed bay facing rooms available. Complete bait and switch at the elevators... I have conveyed my discontent to hotel staff but all they currently have done is say sorry. 1. Don't sell and confirm rooms you don't have. 2. Don't bait and switch me at the elevators... twice. I expect much better from this hotel. Completely let down at this point. And considering I am coming back through Singapore for 3 nights 7 days from now, I will likely book someplace else at this point.

killer location, walkable to much, super staff, great lobby for meetings. gym is ok... they barely air condition, so regardless of the hour you workout at, be prepared to sweat like crazy. very comfortable, quiet rooms.

Having been fortunate to stay in both hotels for 3 nights a piece in both at similar graded rooms...The Mandarin wins easily! The Fullerton staff apart from the front desk were woefull. 1 brekafast no cutlery was supplied and i was not told what could be ordered and what could not apart from there is the Buffet! No body cared there was no pride in this architectural Grand old lady of Singapore The Breakfast staff were on hoilday in a club which said we we are only doing what we have to.....They should all be fired or taken for Breakfast at the Mandarin...Where the staff were switched on helpful full of pride and couldnt do enough for you. Apart from a magnificent breakfast! The fullerton only serves white and brown bread...akin to a 3 star hotel...the extrsas for the muesli were with the corn flakes some 40 feet away. The front door attendents couldnt have been more different...Mandarin were on the ball switched on and aware of you. The Fullerton it took 10-15minutes to get a cab on 3 ocassions and it is in the middlle of the city...get it together chaps! The Manadrin pool is beatufully magnificent and they care...they get you water they lay a towel out for you even when it is 6 am in the morning...The fullertons pool is tired and i never saw a pool attendant in 4 times there in 3 days. The Gyms are a similar story...The fullerton has one stretching mat for the whole hotel! The attendants...not sure why they were there as they we listening to there headphones and the water was empty...twice! The Mandarin they weere helpful...actually gave you headphones and water and a hand towel...tere were also drinks in fridge and free fruit if u wanted! If you are on business and want to have a meeting in an impressive lobby stay at the fullerton..position is also slightly better. If you want an impressive stay that will enrich the senses with a modern out look from a modern service orientated team who really try the Madarin is to be commended well done! The Fullerton is not the Grand Lady she once was.. undreneath the staff have lost there way!

This hotel is right in the heart of the city, very convenient to everything. Professional staff and excellent quality.

The hotel room was clean, spacious, live up to its stars..

Great location, good services, kind staffs, and comfortable room. Can't get any better. We very much enjoyed the afternoon tea at the court yard as well. We'll be staying there again if we ever have a chance to return.

The Fullerton is a lovely hotel with a spectacular lobby area. Service was impeccable, with our room ready by 11AM after leaving our cruise ship. However the room we received was very small and oddly shaped with no view. The bathroom was huge.[...]
