Very nice rooom. We had to move mid stay due hotel requested maintanence issue. The second room had a view of the ocean and pool which made up for the inconvience of packing up and moving. Beach and pool were very nice. Wonderful dining a short distance away

A nice escape

The Flamingo resort is on a great beach with beautiful Caribbean water and a convenient bar/restaurant right on site. There are many things within walking distance if you don't mind walking up a huge hill or driving. The rooms are average and we definitely heard our neighbors as well as the wildlife (frogs, bugs, birds) chirping all night. We stayed on the French side our last visit to the island and it was definitely less crowded and more quaint. The most annoying thing about the Flamingo is that it is a timeshare resort so many 'regulars' took over the beach - they would actually get up at 5am every day to put out chairs/towels/umbrellas in the best spots of the beach with the palapas and tables. Then they didn't come back to actually be at the beach until 9 or 10... Ridiculous and rude!

great for couples and for families

Overall was a fantastic stay with a minor problem concerning the room' safe. The proximity from a well supplied market is a plus. My cote regarding the room cleaness refers solely to the fact that there is only room service twice a week included.

Stayed 12/19-12/25/12 watch out for your stuff!!!!

I stayed with my wife and son on the fifth floor which has great views. The staff on the other had are no help. We never got our room cleaned which we should have, two waiters at the toppers restaurant were extremely rude and not to mention that they added tip which i didn't see until the flight home. And to top it off one morning i left with my family to go pool side and as soon as we went downstairs i went back upstairs to my room to make some drinks for my wife and I, but the vodka bottle that i left in the freezer somehow made its way to the fridge, go figure. There was a maintanence guy who saw us leave and pretty sure it was him, even though we have a do not disturbe sign on the door. If he took some of my vodka, then that means he was looking elsewhere for other stuff.......complained to the mngr and he said he would look into it and let me know, nothing came of it and when asked day after about it everyone was looking at each other like we didnt hear anything about this? lol MF. Overall i had a great time with my family and the views were good, that's about it. I had a better time in ST. Barths which i took a suttle to and the staff at Nikki beach was awsome, now only if ppl were like that everywhere! ES

If your looking to buy food/grocery, small grocery store down the road from pinnaple pete's(headed towards the airport on the left, before bridge), asian owned with awsome dirt cheap prices. And liquore is really cheap as well, hidden find.

Up there with the best

Great location with walking distances to everything, Beautiful and clean Beach, rooms are super clean with ample supplies of all our needs. The staff is courteous and very responsive. The only negative is the very weak lobby only internet.

Good resort & good experience!

After researching this resort quite a bit before booking I was nervous after reading some negative reviews. But to our surprise we had a great experience. The only negative thing I have to say about our experience is that when we arrived at 3:45 p.m. to check in to our room it was not ready. We went to Topper's and grabbed a bite to eat. When we returned at 4:30 it was still not ready. A few minutes later they checked on it and it was available but the staff was unapologetic that we had to wait. Other than that we enjoyed the staff, Gisele was very helpful in directing us around the island and telling us places to eat. The resort wasn't overly crowded and there were always at least one hut open for us to lay under. There were always lounge chairs open near the pool. The pool side was preferred for us being that we didn't have any kids. It seemed more peaceful. Our room was nice and we had a street view, which we ended up loving! Our balcony overlooked Bon Apetite, the wonderful Italian restaurant across the street. The food was excellent and we could sit on our balcony and listen to the musician who was excellent and played some great music. Overally we enjoyed our stay at this resort and would stay there again.

Bon Apetite is right across the street from this resort. If you love Italian food this is the perfect place and we loved that it was in walking distance. Also Cheri's Cafe in the Maho beach area is the best entertainment place. We laughed through our whole dinner, and the food was excellent.

Fantastic stay!

Me and my wife had a great stay at Flamingo Beach Resort. We stayed at an ocean view Ground Fl room right next to the Toppers restaurant. - wished I had got one of those on the 1st or 2nd floor which would have had a better view but this definitely was not a disappointment. The room was pretty clean, although here and there I felt could have been a little cleaner but then it was not THAT a big deal as it was mostly remote corners of the room that I wouldnt come across directly. Kitchen: Was FANTASTIC. There was nothing that was not there! All appliances worked very well and everything was neat and clean. There was everything that we needed. We enjoyed cooking good food and eating them - this was a great help as we are vegetarians. Appliances incl 4 burner electric stove, microwave, fridge, Dishwasher, mixie, coffee maker, toaster. Accessibility: We took a bus from the airport and got down at Burger King in Pelican Key/Simpson bay. It is roughly around 10 mins walk from there. Reception: Was very smooth and very friendly. We reached the resort at 1:00 PM whereas the checkin was at 4 PM. The receptionist checked with the housekeeping staff and since our room was ready, she handed over the keys to us by 1 PM. That was very nice of her. Bed: Was very comfortable. No bedbugs or whatsoever as some people described. We had a sound sleep! There were 2 TVs.. 1 in the living room and 1 in front of the bed that showed decent amount of channels(much more than most of the basic packages provided in the US!) The wardrobe was well stocked with towels for 3-4 days and there was an electronic safe to keep your valuables. The sofa in the living area was very comfortable as well - Loved the view of the ocean from the living area. Toilets: Dont have a bath tub. But maintained neat. There is no exhaust so we had to keep the door open and got an air freshner to keep the odour out. Beach: Is brilliant and pretty calm. We had a great time in the water. We both arent great swimmers and it was perfect for us to get in without any fear. Toppers Restaurant & Pool: Didnt use but some of the people we got to know there said that they were great. Activities: The resort has an activity calendar and there is an activity desk right on the beach which also sells floaters/snorkelling equipments/etc. There is also a souvenir shop(shipwreck shop) just in the corner. Supermarket: There is a supermarket(peli-deli) just 2-3 mins from the resort - very convenient but found it to be a lil expensive compared to other supermarkets in and around Maho. Restaurants: Lot of restaurants in walking distance.. was even surprised to find 2 Indian restaurants in walking distance! All in all - a GREAT place to stay and we would definitely go back there.
