Retro chic in the centre of Bratislava's historic district, Hotel Marrol's is one of the city's most attractive hotels. Set behind a classic, townhouse faade on a peaceful street not far from the River Danube, it offers a Roman-style spa, inspired Mediterranean cuisine and a fitness centre. The Hotel Marrol's stylish rooms and suites have a unique period charm with up-to-the-minute technology, but it is the attentive staff that steals the show here. Nothing is too much trouble and little extras, such as a welcome drink and a complimentary minibar with alco and non alcoholic drinks, create a genuinely homely feel. Most spaces feature light-colored walls, framed paintings, and oversized rugs on top of hardwood floors. The hotel is housed in a carefully renovated historical building that is now registered in the Central List of Cultural Landmarks of Bratislava.

For a spot of indulgence.....

We were greeted warmly by all the staff at the Marrols Hotel. The staff were extremely attentative - it was sheer indulgence! The location was on a quiet back street, but only 5 mins from Old Town Square, and was a lovely walk. The Danube was only 5 mins walk in other direction, and we were very close to some well known sight too.The room was very comfortable, and the beds gave us the best night sleep we have had in ages! A minor dissappointment was the spa - the pre-trip information suggested that it was open access with massage available, but in fact you can only book it out for private use. Not an ideal scenario

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There was a great pizza pasta restaurant 2 minutes from Hotel. Perfect if you have been walking all day and wanted something close to hotel. Additionally, we found pub-grub around the Old Town Square good value

Vienna is one hour away by ferry, train, or bus and flights are cheaper than going directy to Bratislava.
