Awesome vacation stay

I was impressed by the size of my room. King size bed was really two singles pushed together (that didn't bother me at all because it was just me). The little kitchen was nice. The bathroom was huge with a seperate bath and shower. The room's tempature was comfortable with the a/c unit working perfectly. The staff was friendly and helpful. At check in and check out the front desk clerks tried to charge me for my room which was pre-paid. Once I brought it to their attention that the room was pre-paid, they cleared up the issue. The hotel offers a shuttle and the shuttle drivers were awesome. They made suggestions on attractions and locations. A good example of this is when [...] (shuttle driver) suggested that rather then going to the V and A Waterfront that I should take advantage of the clear weather and calm winds and visit Table Mountain. There is a small window of weather conditions where the cable cars operate and the best views are available (being winter time). He was right! The computers available in the lobby for Internet use were good enough. There was some technical troubles with the access codes I was given but the staff was very helpful in getting me a working code. The location was good enough...close to downtown while not in downtown. The neighborhood looked safe enough (but I was a single 30-ish aged guy...the neighborhood could be a little less attractive to single (meaning traveling alone...not marital status :) ) females or older folks) but the shuttles get you quickly and safely to the major attractions. There was someone who paid less for a room in a fancy-looking hotel downtown. I got to see the room but the location wasn't as attractive as it seemed. Downtown Cape Town at night didn't seem like the safest most desirable place to be. I was happy with value I got from the Best Western Cape Suites Hotel.

Nightlife tip: Not Applicable

Nightlife in Cape Town is a little rough. The suburbs like Camps Bay are more trendy and feel more safe. If your a group of young college aged kids, Long Street in downtown Cape Town is definately your speed. It's filled with colorful charactors, cheap bars, cheap clubs, and a nice Irish pub. I would suggest do some research online...I didn't but I was able to enjoy myself.
