The atmosphere of this luxurious sea-side 4 star hotel in Cape Town's Bantry Bay area is relaxed, yet professional. The accommodation is luxurious yet affordable. It is a resort in the city; it is the Protea Hotel President. For business or leisure there is no better choice of venue. Surrounded by the stunning Lion's Head Mountain range and Atlantic Ocean the hotel's spacious rooms offer all the facilities that one would expect from a world-class hotel. One can enjoy a cocktail in the newly refurbished Senate Bar or a sundowner on the terrace, overlooking the magnificent rim-flow pool to the ocean. Once you have taken in the magnificent view you can let the Islands Restaurant tantalise your taste buds with its sumptuous cuisine. When you are not visiting the famous Clifton Beach, the V&A Waterfront or Table Mountain why not pamper yourself at the Amber Hair Salon, or take in the sites of Cape Town with a tour on the hop-on-hop off Cape Town Site Seeing Bus. Not only can you purchase these tickets from the Travel Desk but you can also use the bus stop situated right outside the hotel as your starting point. Tickets to the Two Oceans Aquarium, Helicopter flips around the Cape Peninsula or Robben Island Day trips can also be purchased from the Travel Desk. Once you have discovered is remarkable variety of facilities, impeccable service and consummate luxury, you will agree that there really is no better choice of venue than the Protea Hotel President, and they are with out a doubt the most eminent Cape Town hotel on the Platinum Mile. From the 1st May we will be blocking off the entire 2nd & 3rd floor for the duration of the refurbishment and this should reopen by end of October 2012.

Excellent Hotel!

A very good hotel with excellent customer service. The food was excellent with both food and drink modestly priced. Our room with a kitchenette and living room situated on the top floor was very nicely furnished and cleaned to a high standard. The staff couldn't do enough for us and we throughly enjoyed our stay there. We will definately stay at a Protea Hotel in the future!

Great all round hotel

Spent 9 nights at the hotel in November. Apart from being about an 80 rand taxi ride into town, this hotel is perfect for relaxing out of the main city centre. Bar on site (open till late), some shops close by, but not many restaurants - so you'll probably need to go into town (V&A) and mix it with eating in hotel. Pool/patio area is great. Rooms are comfortable but not European 4* level. Overall, I'd highly recommend this as a place to relax - out of city centre, close enough to get in for food, but great location to explore further down the coast too. If you want to be in the thick of the city though, this isn't for you!

Review of Protea Hotel President

The hotel was fabulous. The rooms were of good size and staff very friendly and helpful. There was a person there that assisted in booking tours and arrangements of taxi which aided immensely in getting around town. The free breakfast buffet was exceptional.
