Situated on Cape Town's Platinum mile and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Winchester Mansions is an exclusive, privately-owned 4 star hotel in Cape Town.

Cape Town Hotel
We loved the hotel!! The location was excellent being right on Beach Road facing the Atlantic Ocean and a quick cab ride to the VA or really anywhere in Cape Town you might like to go. The service at the hotel was probably the best of any hotel we have ever stayed in especially the restaurant. Even though it is an older hotel all the rooms have been remodeled and had all the comforts of a new hotel and a lot more charm. The breakfast selection was outstanding with a choice of a hot selection that included Eggs Benedict as well as a cold buffet that included fruits, breads, cheese, rolls, juice and champagne! We rented a car while we were there and recommend it for driving to the point and wine country. The parking was 50 rand a night (about $7) which we felt was very reasonable given that your car was secured in a walled parking area with an automatic steel gate that you were given a remote to during your stay. The hotel provides a free van ride to the VA. If they take you in the van to anywhere else there is a charge that is about the same as a taxi. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that is planning on staying in Cape Town!

Short drive from hotel
While in Cape Town if you want a great African Dining experience try Gold's. It is downtown but no more than a 15 minute van ride from the Hotel. They have a set menu that includes breads, appetizer, main course and dessert. All uniquely African in nature. After dinner they provide some exceptional entertainment with drums, dancing and costumes that are amazing! The price is 250 rand per person or about $35 but was well worth it. Check the time you need to be there as the dinner and show only happen once a night. We highly recommend this experience for those that want a true taste of Africa!
