Dutch History in Roodepoort

Roodepoort is not the best-known district of Johannesburg, but it certainly has some of the prettiest attractions. The Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden is always worth a visit for its sheer tranquillity, and if you're getting hungry, pop down do the Founders restaurant along Gordon Road or Tres Jolie along Peter Road. The Protea Hotel in Roodeport along Fourteenth Avenue starts around at £100, or you might want to look at the Homestay Travel Guest House for prices starting at around £50.
