- All of the rooms are of a good standard and are fully carpeted with comfortable beds and are softly lit to give a cosy feel. Each room has a writing desk and chair as well as satellite TV, tea/coffee making facilities, ice jug and digital safe. The en suite bathrooms all have separate bath and shower.

No reasonably priced hotels at the Jo'burg airport, but this one was easily accessible via shuttle.

Pleasant, minimalist, modern rooms
Pleasant, minimalist, modern rooms that have a European feel. Surprisingly good food, too -- I had a light supper and was impressed. I regard this as an excellent stop-over on my travels.

City Lodge - Jnb International Airport
This hotel is a good choice for a one night stay traveling from the US to other points in Africa as is often needed. The hotel has an airport shuttle (7 min drive) but is not free even though it is advertized as free by the airport information desk. Cost is same as a cab. Having no elevator or "lift" was difficult since we had to carry 3 weeks worth of luggage upstairs ourselves to our room. After a 22 hour set of flights we barely had the energy for this. Hotel itself was nice, food/bar nice also.

Great Place!
I had no idea where the shuttle would be at the airport and didn't have to find it. However, everything else was just great, I wish I could have stayed longer.

An easy answer to an airport stayover
I stayed at City Lodge overnight between connections and had dinner there with some local friends. The food was surprisingly good and the staff friendly. The room was simple but totally adequate. A good value hotel.

Constant Traveller
Good stopover location and great value
I've been staying at the Airport City Lodge since the 80s and the accommodation and service are consistently good. The staff are professional and clearly well trained. Lately, they provide light meals in the evenings which is great for travellers who do not want to step out to look for a place to eat in the evening. The quality of the food and presentation are very good. Rooms are clean and well appointed and the hospitality tray is a plus when in need of a quiet cup of tea/coffee!
