Awful experience
got into Barcelona and arrived at the hotel at 7 in the evening to be told that the hotel was oversold and they did not have a room for us- they did arrange for a taxi to take us to a sister property. The room they put us in was horrible- we had booked the "romantic package" and were given a first floor room next to the elevators. The room must have been a conference room converted- inside we found a double bed, bunk beds along the wall, a conference table and a projector screen. It was horrible. We asked for a different room and they had none- they switched us to yet again another sister property. This hotel/room was really no nicer. The room smelled and the bed (including another set of bunk beds!) were rock hard. We checked out early the next day- horrible!!!

Petit Palace
Hotel location was average. Located about 3/4 mile from the nearest Metro made it a trip everytime we wanted to travel via Metro. We took a double decker turism bus at 22 Euros a day or 30 Euros for two days. I recommend you take the two day pass. First day take the busses and take a good look of the city and places to go. Second day you can take the busses and use them as transportation to the diverse locations around. I recoomend La Familia by famous Catalan Architect Gaudi. A gondola ride across the bay. A tour of the fortress and Olympic city. Hotel has a nice lobby area with laptops and a grand piano. The room was ok with little space to move around. The bathroom was great with a fabulous shower. The work room is mediocre at best, the breakfast was over priced ~$15 Euros. Not worth it!

Perfect location with a short
Perfect location with a short walk to everything. Two minor sugestions to make the hotel to my favorit: 1. Provide the rooms with a top-to-toe-mirrow. (Very importaint when I have bought new shoes...) 2. Change the floors to wood, that is better for thous who is a little alergic.

a night in Barcelona
Hotel was hard to find but worth it. We spent 1 night (pre-cruise). The room was large but a little dark. It was in the back and very quiet. We ate breakfast nearby in a coffee shop rather than spend 16 euros at the hotel. It was a long walk to the Ramblas even longer to the port. I would stay here again but it is not my first choice in Barcelona hotels.

Sweet Location!
Easy access to the Metro (subway/underground rail system). Close to Main shopping district and plenty of restaurants. Ask the helpful staff for recommendations of where to eat. 15 to 20 min. drive to both airport and port.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
Pan & Company is fast food place on the right hand side (same side of Petit Palace Museum Hotel Barcelona) where you could have a great sandwich or breakfast at a low cost. Hotel does accommodate a family of four (4) comfortably.

Very good pricing for it's location
Very good pricing for it's location (1 block north of Placa de Catalunya) so it is central to everything. Short walk to Metro as well. The hotel is setup with a funky modern feel and the laptop that is in your room with free internet was quite helpful. We booked a 'Family Room and it was very spacious by european standards. A bunk bed set-up for our kids with each of them having a small lcd television on their bunk. Only english channel on their system was CNN however. Service at the front desk was a little cold but really didn't interfere with the stay. The ventilation in our bathroom didn't seem to be functioning so it was a little musty and we wouldn't recommend drinking water from the tap (it smelled/tasted a little punky) but we would certainly stay here again.

Great Location, Good Hotel
Overall, this was a good hotel in a great location. The pasteria across the street was a great place to start each day and sangria's outside in the nearby restaurants was great. Walking distance to many great sites and close to the metro for others far away. We had a problem with the wall tiles falling off the wall and crashing to the floor. The hotel fixed the problem quickly but the clean up was less than perfect and they never apologized or said a thing to us. Other than that the hotel was great and the room we had, had a great view.h

This is a really good place to
This is a really good place to stay in when visiting the bustling city of Barcelona. It takes only a couple of minutes to walk to Passeig de Gracia, Placa de Catalunya (with Corte Ingles) and the famous Rambla but you don't have to put up with the noise from the traffic. Also, the hotel itself is very nice and very modern. If you are in Barcelona for a vacation or on business doesn't matter, this is a super place to stay. I highly recommend it. Even the breakfast buffet is good.
