Perfect trip to Barcelona
The staff extremely helpful at all times. The room size was great and included the bathroom. It was always very clean. The bed and pillows were very very comfortable. Away from the center but close enough you could walk. Taxis were always available in front of the building at all hours. Cost of the access to the internet was located by the reception but private enough to browse for 2 euros for 1/2 hr. We had balcony on the front side of the bldg and were able to leave balcony doors opened for fresh air. In general we would stay at this hotel again and will recommend.

Long walk from hotel
Go to an area called La Barceloneta. They have tons of great seafood restaurants. It is located by the pier and beach side. Prices are very reasonable. Safe city to walk. Bring good walking shoes for coble stone surfaces. Great city to walk

Great two-week stay!
Location and comfort were wonderful. Wish TV had more than just CNN in English, and that we could control the heating system's fiery temp a bit better. Great inner courtyard view of all the different private patios, and generally quiet room. Could use a bit more between room soundproofing for a long stay like ours. The solarium makes for a lovely experience entering and leaving.

Business Trip
The hotel was ideally situated for my purposes and overall a good value. The Club Level "breakfast" was nothing more than donuts and croissants so the expense of breakfast was an add on. Meals in the restaurant were very good. The hotel does not have a business center and was unable to assist with printing boarding passes.

“Excellent location, great staff, great family rooms”
Stayed at the hotel recently. Excellent location right in th heart of Barcelona, with the Placa de Catalunya and Passeig de Gracia a few blocks away. Easy links to the Metro via Girona (closest), Tetuan and Passeig de Gracia (further away) stations. Very helpful staff. Roof top pool (unheated) with great views. Sauna is also located next to the pool on the roof top. Family rooms are great as they are two essentially rooms with a common entrance door and corridor. Very reasonably priced for the location and amenities. Close to many cafes and restaurants - Mayura (same block) serves great Indian food with good portions at reasonable prices. Breakfast at Gust (1 block away) was good. Passeig de Gracia has many restaurants serving tapas etc. Resturant called Egypte on La Rambla (just after the La Boqueria market) serves a good lunch-time set meal.

Beautiful Barcelona By the Sea
The beaches are warm and clean. There are umbrellas and lounge chairs you can rent for 8 euros each. Some of the women do not wear bikini tops, some do. The beaches do not have many shells and the sand is smooth on the feet. The waves are very relaxing and the tide doesn't pull hard.

There are miles of cafes, restaurants and tapas places near the hotel. Check the menu before being seated. The outdoor cafes are best for people watching. Although many of the menus and waiters have English descriptions, try to get a Catalan (which is different than Spanish) dictionary, to enhance your experience.

Not too bad at all
Four stars overall may be a bit generous. Lovely exterior, nice attempt at a contemporary fusion in the interior (though it already has a dated feel). Staff by and large were friendly and helpful, but could get short with you if you asked too many questions. Very tolerant of late rising, which is important in Barcelona. We upgraded to the Club room, and were glad we did (though at check-in a misunderstanding about single or double beds almost had us downgraded back to the regular rooms without a rebate - I had to query the sudden loss of perks such as free coffee and pastries in order to discover the mistake). Roof-top terrace was a lovely way to end the day, but could be better staffed. Meal sized tapas available, but no snacks to go with your drinks. Bizzarely, any drink ordered (from a tripple gin and tonic to a caraffe of sangria for two) cost 10 euros. They annoyingly pushed us to add on the breakfast. It was not included and regular price would have been 18 euros for the buffet (they offered a special of 14 euros for our stay). Alas for them, coffee and pastries on our own schedule was exactly what we preferred for breakfast. Don't get me wrong. Overall it was a very good experience. And the location can't be beat! It really can't. But we got the distinct impression that just a little scratch of the surface would reveal an unpleasant odour of cost minimizing and profit maximising. It's the sort of place that you may the value at full price, but are really, really pleased to have gotten a special rate. Yes, I would stay there again, but we are both of a mind to go one step up and find a 5 star next time.

The hotel staff were friendly, the room was always cleaned well, extra little thoughtful things done by staff eg chocolates in pillows, good views from the rooftop terrace, close to Plaza Catalunya, buses, trains, metro, etc.

Barca Stay.
Kind and friendly staff but my room has no view and it was extremely close to elevators which meant that I didn't have a quiet nights sleep As with Barcelona everything is easy and convenient to get to from Silken Gran and as I said staff were mostly very friendly and helpful
