Great stay at the Tryp Apolo Barcelona
We just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel. We were welcomed by Oscar, at the Front Desk who checked us in quickly and, at our request, gave us a quiet room. He was extremely friendly and helpful and gave us maps and tips on sightseeing. We also booked the Barcelona Tours hop on hop off bus with him. Gracias Oscar!! Our room, 624, was very nice and well-located. It was on the sixth (top) floor on a side street on the opposite side of the hotel from the nightclub. We had a balcony (not all of the rooms have balconies) and from there could see down to the port, the statue of Christopher Columbus, and Montjuic to the other side. It was an excellent room with comfortable beds, working safe, and refrigerator. The hotel provided lots of toiletries in the bathroom and the maid was very friendly. We would definitely stay there again.

We ate breakfast at Dino Pan, a small coffee shop just across the street from the hotel. Great sandwiches, pastries and cafe con leche.

The hotel was not very clean. The rooms were noisy and the thermostat didn't really work. The bed reminded me of a pull out couch mattress. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Good location near La Rambla area
Good location... short walk to La Rambla area and many restaurants, bars, etc. Staff can be on the verge of rude when asked about local ammenities. Don't get talked into the breakfast buffet deal unless you definitely don't have time to go out. There are many places to eat within a ten minute walk that are as reasonable or more so. Bar prices are rediculously expensive... be sure to ask prices when ordering. Nearby shopping is abundant.

Location is great, room very comfortab
My husband and I had never been to Barcelona and really enjoyed the hotel as far as quiet, clean,and comfortable. The staff was great and informed and answered any questions we had. The location was terrific and we hoped on a bus and covered the Southern side of Barcelona. On Sunday we went to the port which was 15 minutes away for our cruise. There were buses, trains, and taxi's available right outside of the hotel. The airport was 25 minutes away by taxi....... Highly recommend.............. cruise. Clean and modern hotel with all the necessary ammenities. Staff was very helpful. Location was good - subway, taxi service right outside door. Walking distance to Las Ramblas. Very reasonable price.
