Relaxed Atmosphere

The resort is really nice & quite relaxed, but to stay here you really need to have a car, for which there is ample parking. Reception staff need to up their game a bit but the maintenance, house-keeping & catering staff all do a fabulous job. Our 2 bed apartment had all the mod cons. The resort is really hard to find for 1st time visitors; it took us hours as we had the address down as Mijas, not Mijas-Costa, which is 5 miles up the road. Also, my Sat-Nav found 3 Calle Topacio addresses in this region, so my advice is print off a map & if the sat-nav lets you down, aim for a nearby road. Ideal spot for those with young families as it's very quiet at night. Go for the half-board option when checking in as it's good value & the food is very good also.

This is a nice resort, beautifully maintained & rooms are very well-appointed with all mod-cons. You definitely need a car to stay here, for which there's ample parking. It's very difficult to find for 1st time visitors & our Sat-Nav didn't help as there are 2 other streets with the same name in the vicinity. It's in Mijas-Costa, not Mijas or Mijas Pueblo, despite whatever address you're given. Head towards Marbella from Malaga on the main dual-carriageway & get off when you see the Miraflores golf resort on your right. We didn't find the reception staff all that helpful, but the house-keeping & catering staff were fabulous. We didn't spot this until checking out, but we could've upgraded to half board for the week for about £250 I think....to include breakfasts & dinner, which is a bargain. Other reviews didn't rate the food,...I thought it was excellent. Evening entertainment not the best,...more a place for those with young families as it was very quiet at night. An ideal base from which to explore the region by car, alternating days out with days by the pool.

The food at this hotel was excellent at all times.
The daily entertainments and activities were enjoyable. There was a close train station that made our stay more convenient.

The balcony had not been cleaned

The balcony had not been cleaned for several weeks which effectively put it out of use. The bed linen was full of holes and the room itself required refurbishing. Thye public areas were generally clean and reception where helpful and organised. La Colina is the nearest train station ten minutes walk away.

Description
Hotel Hostal Marbella is a small hotel managed for a swedish couple with 25 rooms. The hotel has 4 floors with elevator and the majority of the rooms have balcony or terrace. If you bring your own laptop it's possible to use the WI-FI for free in the whole Hotel. All rooms are newly renovated and have A/C, heating, Satellite TV, safe and bathroom ensuite. Reception is open since 08:00 a.m. until midnight. All the staff is multilingual and all speak English to give you the best service possible. On the ground floor there is a newly renovated lounge-bar where we serve breakfast and all kinds of drinks. On the roof, we have also a nice terrace where to take sunbathes, read or have a drink.

Merveilleux séjour à Fuerte. Accueil très sympathique. Dommage que des explications sur le fonctionnement des différents services et prestations ne soient pas plus exprimées en Français. Personnel "délicieux", Par contre . dommage que les lieux de vie, pratiquent des prix un peu trop élevés, entraînant ainsi une trop légère fréquentation du bar, et même sa fermeture quasi totale. Merveilleux P.D, et dîners sous forme de buffet. Variété et choix extraordinaire. De toutes façons à découvrir ou à redécouvrir.

As 40 year old couple without children in attendance we wanted to find a place that was relaxing, not too much of an over the top full service resort and keep it close to bars/restaurants. Fuerte Suites did the trick. The units are SPACIOUS (read: huge), very clean and well maintained. The facilities were similar. Pools were nice, though mother nature interfered with using them. But when the rains rolled in the staff continued to work as hard to keep the drink/food service coming. Other pros include spa treatments, breakfast, front desk and restaurant staff.
Keep in mind that it is a 10-15 Euro trip to town and too far to walk. There are a couple grocery stores across the busy road. So do your stocking up there if you can.
The only negatives we found were on site store (expensive as you would expect) and consistency of the wi-fi. Although available throughout the facility they seemed to max out on users at points during the day - meaning you couldn't necessarily get on when you needed.

Todo está orientado al trote con cierto confort, no al "lujo".

OUR ROOM WAS A SMALL SUITE, COMPLETE WITH FULL KITCHEN (WE ATE BREAKFAST ON OUR BEAUTIFUL TERRACE EACH DAY, AS WELL AS TWO DINNERS), VERY LARGE BATHROOM AND DECENT SIZED LIVING/DINING AREA AND BEDROOM. DECOR WAS PLAIN BUT COMFORTABLE. REGULAR BUS SERVICE TO ADJACENT TOWNS ALLOWED US TO AVOID CAR RENTAL, STILL GET AROUND AND ENJOY A QUIET HOLIDAY. MINIMAL OFFERINGS AT THE HOTEL GIFT/MARKET SHOP, BUT A MINI-MARKET 10 MINUTES AWAY BY FOOT HAD WONDERFUL BREADS AND NICE VARIETY OF SNACK ITEMS. THE HOTEL RESTAURANT WAS MEDIOCRE AT DINNER, BUT OFFERED A LARGE, MODESTLY PRICED BREAKFAST BUFFET. DON'T SIGN UP FOR FULL MEALS; GREAT RESTAURANTS CAN BE FOUND IN NEIGHBORING TOWNS.

nice, but the wanted me to buy timeshare

they made hear a sale on timeshare about 4 hrs long , they only change towels once a week because we didn't buy timeshare. [...] also be aware you need to be able to walk long areas and go up and down stairs. anybody with reduced mobilty DON'T STAY HERE !!!!

Las zonas de escaleras no tienen barandillas... :-(

We enjoyed the Cervantes and would definately stay again. The renovated lobby area is very nice, pool area is great and with a children's pool. It was a bit of a walk down to the beach but was a nice walk. The only downside was that the pools are not heated and we were there late April and the water was FREEZING. Our poor 4 year old .... GREAT pricing for our stay and included breakfast and dinner buffet. Food got tiring quickly but was so convenient. I think the Cervantes would be much more fun if it had been a month later and warmer weather.

As a regular at the El Paraiso

As a regular at the El Paraiso for over 25 years, I always enjoy my stays. Not a luxury hotel, but offers really good value for money, especially for this part of the coast. In a quiet location, 10-mins west of San Pedro & 15-mins from Puerto Banus, it is situated 1-mile up hill from the Crowne Plaza & Benavista and has great 180-degree views of the coast, all the way to Gibraltar. The outdoor pool & gardens are great for relaxation, plus indoor pool, sauna and hot-tub. Ask for a room on the 4th or 5th floor, overlooking the pool. It is not a 'lively' hotel and that is one of the reasons I return; it enables me to chill out and recharge my batteries in pleasant surroundings. A car is probably essential here. Also, there are some good restaurants at the bottom of the hill and the hill is rather steep (especially on the way up!). For a real treat, try the Ramos Restaurant, 5-mins walk from the hotel. EUR120 for two will give you a dinner to remember (3 courses, wine, aperitif & coffee).

Lo mejor de todo la amabilidad del personal del hotel. Es ideal para familias y enclavado en un entorno muy tranquilo y con unas vistas excelentes. Lo peor es la cama con un colchón mejorable y las almohadas que son de terror. En general, buena valoración.

Description
The hotel has 211 rooms distributed among small two-storey white houses is decorated with wrought iron railings in the balconies. This gives the hotel the atmosphere of an authentic Andalusian village with streets and squares and leafy trees. Each room in the hotel is different and they all have a full bathroom. In this "little village", you will find attractive entertainment proposals for all ages: two swimming pools, one for adults and one for children, two tennis courts, one squash court, volleyball, water polo, TV lounge and clubhouse. In the outdoor complex is a fresh water swimming pools, a sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols laid out ready for use and a pool bar. Guests may try many different sports including windsurfing, archery, basketball, billiard, tennis, table tennis and beach volleyball. Shame about the Food

I have stayed in 5 hotels in this area over the last 2 years. I would place the Flamingo at either 2nd or 3rd after the Cervantes, but then it was only half the price.
Its situated in the town only 5-10 minutes from the station which saves on taxi fares and the trip from Malaga airport only costs Euro 1.35. Its got a nice bar come entertainment area which opens out onto a good sized pool and garden area. The rooms are of a good size and clean but are in need of an update. I only had a single room but it had twin beds and a small balcony. The cleaning staff where very helpful and cheerful. Internet access was available at reception the staff there where very willing to help in some cases their English was a bit limited but a bit of patience worked wonders.
My only complaint was the food, there was no real restaurant management. During the time I was there the chef during service was spend most of his time talking to a young waitress/receptionist and so the dishes on the buffet would not be replenished. He was quiet annoyed when I asked him for the dish I wanted to be replenished. I never went hungry but there was no great enjoyment in the food.
To me this hotel is in a good location but is definitely a 'room only' hotel

At check in the Receptionist had gone for lunch.So I had to wait 20-30 minutes for him.Then, they did not have my reservation.It was quite hot (Apr 24th) and No AC in rooms.AC was installed in rooms but not operational, by "Manager's decision". I asked for a fan and that was not available.My biggest complaint was non-availability of any kind of Internet in rooms. Every one needs to check emails these days. The entire hotel needs renovation. The bathroom shower cord would not hold in it's hook. Kept falling during my shower. Took me 30+ minutes to take my shower. Toilet is from the 70s. Definitely not 3 star. There are 3 small elevators which are mostly busy and operate very slow.[...]

Super location.
Rooms are large, clean and well equipped.
This hotel only has wi-fi access by subscription that is cheaper than on the street.
Does not have a lot of English speaking TV channels.
The restaurant services mainly meal plans bought by tourists. Mine included breakfast only which was fantastic but consistently slightly overcooked for my taste.
Clients are mainly from Germany and the Netherlands.

Actualmente en reformas.
Las habitalciones muy amplias tipo suite con pequeño salón. PISCINA: no fiarse de las fotos.
SITUACION: estupenda. Punto medio entre Playa Bahondillo y Puerto Marina (15').
Algún problemilla a la salida. No les constaba al hotel el pago efectuado a través de H. Club.

Great location, right on the beach and every room had a view of the beach. Very close to shops and restaurants and tour buses stop right at the front door of the place.

Great location right on the beach and in the middle of all the shopping! The rooms were clean and well kept, and every room has a balcony looking out at the ocean. The bathrooms were the best I've seen for a three star. For the money, it was a fantastic deal!

Great Staff!

We only stayed a short time because of catching an early flight. Reception made us feel very welcome. In the morning because we weren't going to be there for breakfast they packed us a picnic to go. While the hotel is a little dated everything was clean and in good order. The pool was beautiful, too bad we were out of season.

Hôtel très bruyant, surtout le soir, musique tous les soirs jusqu'à 2h du matin.
Chambres vétustes, cuisine mal équipée (manque de la vaisselle), plusieurs ampoules grillées.
Piscine trop petite, aucun transat de libre.
Hôtel trop éloigné du centre ville et de la mer.
