Barcelo Margaritas

The staff were very polite and friendly, the rooms are cleaned on a regular basis and the bed very comfortable. The food was awesome always looking forward to go to the restaurant each day. Never ate so good in a holiday. The location is very good not far from the beach and night life. Will surely come back again

All good things to say bout this hotel good location, night;ife and beach are not far away at all great room size;split living room and bedroom;for the location, pretty amazing good service great value for your money,strongly recommended

We have very good All Inclusive holiday there. Free bus to the beach and good evening program.

Hotel and staff were good. the location of the hotel was not so good as it is away from the beach. although must say there is a regular free shuttle service both to maspalomas and playa del ingles beach. food was okay as it was 80% repeat everyday. main swimming pool has little sun during the day. but the one located near the appartments was very good but often difficult to find a bed if you went late.

Our 3-person family visited the last week of July 2010. We had a great time! We wanted a view of the pool and they did not have any rooms. However, the staff were glad to move us the next day. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Both of the pools were lovely. The food was great! We all gained weight. Rooms are cleaned every day. Courtesy shuttle to both beaches is a bonus. Easier than walking to the beach from a hotel. Entertainment was great most of the time. Only had one night that was a little lame. It would have been nice to have kareoke more than one night. Free pour drinks. Don't worry if you want more after 11pm, because the disco is great and serves BOGOF. Yumbo Centre is a close walk, but we found better deals at the Cita (taxi €3). We loved the local Aqualand water park. They offer a 2nd visit for only €8ppp. It is worth going twice for only a €5 taxi. Don't get hooked to go see another property. It's a time share and was a total waste of our day (unless you have £9K+ to spend on a 1-week owned holiday). They gave us a DVD player, but we would have rather been at the beach. Nice property, but don't follow someone who says you might of won €500 on a scratch card. This was our 1st time to Gran Canaria and we would definitely go again; and probably to Las Margaritas (as the locals call it). They have plenty of activities for the kids; young and older. Our 14-year old liked the darts and archery. They younger kids would have a ball. Bingo every afternoon by the pool trying to win champagne. They speak all the languages. Would recommend to all.

Very nice hotel with all the necessary facilities. Very nice, clean and well kept environment around the pool areas with palm trees, grass lawn and a lot of flowers. Great breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet with a large variety of dishes, both meat, fish and vegetarian. Far better food than in most of the restaurants in the city. Very friendly service all around the hotel, both in the reception, the restaurant, the bars, room cleaning etc. I spent one week at the hotel and will definitely come back. :-)

We had a good stay at the Barceló Margaritas Hotel from December 19 through December 23, 2009. The hotel is very conveniently located in Playa el Ingles area, next door to the Post office, several banks and shopping areas. We just had couple of mishaps during our stay. Upon check-in, we were assigned a room that was already booked, and we were allowed to get into that room! So had to go back to reception and request a new room. The A/C in the new room was not working, so had to call Reception to get it serviced. Also, the TV set would not turn On with the remote control, had a hard time figuring out how to turn it ON on the TV set itself. No instructions were provided. Only the essential accessories were provided in the bathroom (soap, shampoo, body gel), but they did provide a hair dryer. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, wide selection of foods, to cater the European tourists mostly. Due to the wet, cool weather, we did not try the pool. Overall, we had a good stay, no major complaints.

We stayed at the Barcelo Margaritas on an all inclusive basis for just over a week at Christmas. The food here is excellent and I mean really good quality and congratulations should go to the chefs. Apart from that this really does not warrant a 4* hotel. If you take the all inclusive option be prepared to self serve yourself during the day, coffee, beer etc. I have never stayed in a 4* hotel (or 3* for that matter) where all inclusive drinks are not served by staff at the bar. It makes it feel cheap and because of this I wouldn't reccommend it if you are looking for a 4* holiday. The place is clean and tidy but to be honest we wouldn't go back here.

Hôtel très agréable, propre, avec des chambres très confortables et spacieuses, mais la restauration est plus que médiocre. Malgré le très grand choix dans les plats, la qualité de ceux-ci ne sont pas du tout à l'image de cet hôtel : plats sans aucune saveur, répétitifs. 2 diners à thèmes sur 1 semaine, mais on avait l'impression de manger la même chose que les autres jours. Si vous souhaitez réserver cet hôtel, je vous conseil de prendre que le petit déjeuner dans votre formule. Il y a suffisamment de restaurants à 5 min de marche, à des prix très attractifs.
