Nice, friendly, good location and great deal for the bucks
Very nice Hotel, in a very upscale area, walking distance to El Retiro park, 3 streets to Velazquez metro station. The room was clean, warm, the staff was friendly. No cost safety box (worked with a credit card). No free internet in the rooms (need to go to the first floor, next to the bar). very tiny elevator (max 3 persons/ 1 with suitcases) The breakfast is outstanding. I will certainly come back to this place. Close to many ATMs

Ok hotel, great location
Relatively easy access to metro. Nunez de Balboa metro location is 4 blocks from hotel. Rooms are Very small and very out of date. In comparison to your average Marriott, this hotel would not be equivalent of a Fairfield inn. Moved to a Confortel hotel off of Pio XII station on the last night of Madrid trip. Much better hotel for less dollars

Nunez de Balboa metro is just north of this location. If you are moving bags, it is all downhill to the hotel.

Good location, but....
This is a nice enough hotel, good location and clean. But even in a no-smoking room, the smell coming up the central spiral stairs from the smoking bar on the bottom floor permeates the whole building. Since Spain is a smoker friendly country, I would probably stay here again since its difficult to get away from the smoke anywhere you go.

Shopping tip:

Expensive shopping area to the west of Valezquez, cheaper and more shopping to the east, along Goya.

An exquisite hotel with ambiance and con
Very conveniently located in an elegant neighborhood. Rooms very spacious, spotless housekeeping, and beds very comfortable. Superb insulation, no street noise. Elegant restaurant on 1st floor. Easy access to public transportation for sightseeing. Great breakfast, extremely friendly staff. Appeared this hotel catered to conferences, not aware of amenities for exercising or children. Only service missing was a porter to help with luggage into the room. Had to carry luggage up 8 stairs before reaching the extremely tiny elevator. Great place to stay. The best 4 Star hotel we stayed in during our 3 week vacation to Europe!

Unbeatable location for the price
We like it very much is a nice hotel with very good service and well located near the finest shopping area in Madrid, there´s a metro station two blocks away so you can move easily to downtown or the prime museums without using taxi. They serve a complete buffet cold breakfast with a good variety of fruits, cereals, breads and european deli.
