more bad than good

The good points: -A balcony with a sea view -Close to shops and cafes (you will probably need them) -The salad was fresh and there was melon if you fancied something healthy -The weather was great…. The not so good points: -On arrival of the hotel, not one of the receptionists spoke English, there was zero communication -Although you have paid for all inclusive service, you have to pay a whopping 25euros per person for WIFI. Its free in the local cafes so don’t bother. I’d also like to point out that it didn’t actually work for 2 days of us being there, so we asked for a refund, which the receptionist was very reluctant to give. -The hotel room smelled incredibly damp, there was a ring of water on the carpet outside the bathroom -The bar area by the pool absolutely stank of vomit, there were bottles of spirits lined up for people to help themselves, somebody had clearly poured a few too many and it wasn’t cleaned up properly (by the end of the week it was coming through the tiling on the floor, which was re-cemented on the last day) -The pool area in general smelled like sewage, like the drains were blocked or something. Also, the general cleanliness of the pool area wasn’t kept up during the day, the empty plates and cups attracted ants and flies. Not nice when trying to sunbathe. -The food was ok, however lacking in nutrition, the only form of lean protein was the white fish or the roast pork joint they had on 1 day, otherwise it was chicken nuggets, deep fried veg, chips, lots of rice and pasta. -The service really wasn’t great, we went to reception and asked if there was anything to do locally, the answer was ‘no, its not peak season’ however we found the zoo, waterpark, botanical gardens, lovely little cafes we found on a cliff edge not far away. -The pool tables were both broken without effort to fix them at all. -The entertainment is dire, hilarious to watch as it was so bad. Bless them for trying but it is super low budget entertainment, almost slapstick. -You couldn’t take drinks upto your room, not even water. This meant we had to buy bottles of water from the shop. -This sounds really fussy, but when we called reception to ask for an iron, they said they didn’t have one, the only thing they suggested we do was to buy an iron. Seriously. -Also if you are all inclusive and your transfer is in the evening on the last day, they will literally kick you out at noon with threats to call the police, myself and my boyfriend are far from thugs we don’t get into confrontation and found their threats completely uncalled for and a frankly a bit scary. This is far from a 4 star hotel, maybe the rules are different with the star system in Spain, but I would rate it a 2 at a push in comparison to other 2 and 4 star hotels.

I was not happy

I just arrived back from Tenerife yesterday.Unfortunatelly i am disappointed. This hotel is very far from the 4 star!!! It is so noise in 24/7. The carpet is so old everywhere in the building. The outside lamp, which is next to the balcony on the ground floor makes noise all night,I mentioned to the receptionists but they did not care at all, looks like they had the same issue before, because when I told to them they knew this problem already! I met with a died cockroach on the corridor! Was not nice feeling !!! THE WORST THING WAS,I LEFT £95 IN THE DRAWER,WHEN I CAME BACK TO THE ROOM THAT WAS ONLY £85 !!! STRANGE IS NOT IT !! Some good things:The food was good and plenty, the outside pool and the garden was nice and clean.

Was good

The hotel is a part of three-hotel resort in the "upper part" of the Town - shops (food, souvenirs, electronics) and bars as well as the botanic garden are located just next to the hotel. Easy access to the motorway - in case you want to rent a car and drive around. The town centre and the beaches are about 30 minutes walk away, half of it is stairs... easy going there, but quite an exercise coming back. Hotel itself is a in good condition, clean and modern facilities. Sea view or view of "El Teide". The hotel stuff was extremely helpful - changing money, renting a car, picking excursions - very very friendly at any time of day. Dinner and Breakfast are PLENTY. There was a themed food every night with Chinese/Mexican/Italian etc dishes. Entertainment in the evening was "OK", but it is pretty much the same all over the town, the hotel internal entertainers and the child clubs/mini disco were fantastic, our 5.5 year old loved it!

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

If you can - rent a car and go to "El Tide" - 100 km (70 miles) through fantastic landscapes to the peak of the highest mountain in Spain. There is also very helpful Tourist Information Office in the Old Customs House in the Harbour who can provide infos in English on where and how to go. DO NOT use the excursions offered by travel agencies on site - they will take you on the bus to a restaurant and back!
