Perfect location!

Centralized location in Old Town is perfect as a homebase for sight-seeing. Lovely breakfast buffet, helpful staff. Cozy rooms on the small size for americans, but very clean. Upgraded from an alley-view to a water-view which was beautiful & worth it for us. Street noise wasn't too bad and bar is noisy on weekends, so request 4th floor or higher. Overall, highly recommended and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Description
Victory hotel is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and is part of the small chain Three Hotels in Stockholm's Old Town, owned and operated by the Bengtsson Family since 1974. The Victory Hotel opened as number three of the family's three hotels and it was named after their first hotel- Lord Nelson's - famous flagship HMS Victory. The founders' love for maritime antiques and Swedish folklore art is evident for all visitors as large portions of the family's private antique collection can be found throughout the hotel. One such item is the original letter written by the Lord Nelson to his mistress Lady Hamilton in 1801 that is now on display in the lobby. The rooms are all named after a Swedish sea captain. In each room guests will find photos and memorabilia of the captain the room is named after as well a model of the ship he sailed. The rooms are furnished in a comfortable and home-like fashion and tastefully decorated with the owner's collections of antiques. Housed in a building from 1642, history is ever present at the Victory Hotel. This is not only the find site of the largest silver treasure the Lohe Treasure that has ever been discovered in Sweden, but it the restaurant can the remains of Stockholm's old medieval defence wall Leijontornet be seen. Great place to stay for an old town experience. Really appreciated the free internet, but missed tea and coffee making facilities in the very small room. Staff were wonderful and breakfast was also fantastic.

Fabulous location right in the middle of the old town stockhom...Walk to EVERYTHING, from Royal Palace; boat-trip docks...tiny cobbled streets and scores of good restaurants; cafes and shops. The weather was cold and rainy when we stayed and the roon was slightly on the chilly side...but I'm sure that would have been dealt with, had I asked.

Description
This intimate and romantic hotel is part of the small chain The Collectors Hotels, owned and managed by the Bengtsson Family since 1974. The Lady Hamilton was the second hotel the family opened, thus it was named after the name of their first hotel-Lord Nelsons-beautiful mistress. The founders love for maritime antiques and Swedish folklore art is evident throughout the hotel and part of the familys private collection is on display here for all guests to enjoy. Housed in a listed building dating back to the 18th century, you can truly feel the history within the walls of the Lady Hamilton Hotel. After a hot sauna, guests are invited to take a cool dip in the 14th century historic well the very same well where the population of Stockholm used to fetch water. The hotels intimate and romantic atmosphere is further reinforced in the rooms by the antique folklore cupboards with an equally antique (though now empty) bottle of aquavit and a traditional Swedish wall painting. All rooms are named after a Swedish county flower. 4-star Lady Hamilton Hotel is a genuinely personal, feminine and romantic hotel with a prime location in Stockholms Old Town, next door to the Royal Palace and within easy walking distance to the City and with most of Stockholm's sights and attractions. The property offers conference facilities, currency exchange, doctor on call, dry cleaning service, Internet access-high speed, Internet access wireless, laundry service, lift/ elevator, lobby, non-smoking rooms, parking facilities-at cost, plunge pool, reception, room service and safe deposit box. It's a non smoking hotel. Lady Hamilton Hotel has received The Green Key. This is an international environmental award that certifies that this hotel has an environmental policy and is actively working on environmental improvements. They have fulfilled international criteria and been approved by the Keep Sweden Tidy Foundation

Good location, though one can hear the bell from the church clock at night. The hotel is interesting as it has it's own "old style". Comfortable bed. The room was small and apart from the nice retro style, curtains and armchair looked old in a sense of being not very clean. The hotel staff was nice and friendly.

Description
The hotel is part of the small chain. The Collector's Hotels in Stockholms Old Town that is owned and managed by the Bengtsson Family since 1974. The name Lord Nelson is taken from the founders' great love of maritime antiques and parts of the family's private collection are on display throughout the hotel. The maritime theme runs like a red thread throughout the hotel and gives guests and visitors the impression of actually being on a ship. The hotel's maritime atmosphere is further reinforced in the rooms by characteristic ship style wooden floors, a port hole on the bathroom door and a ship model that is an exact replica of the antique ship the room was named after. Housed in a narrow and tall building dating back to the 18th century, the Lord Nelson Hotel is the narrowest hotel in Sweden only 6 meters wide. Consequently, the rooms are in general small, but what they lack in size, the hotel makes up for in charm and character as well as location and comfort. 3-star Lord Nelson Hotel is an intimate and familiar hotel, with a fantastic location in Stockholm's Old Town and most of the city's attractions within easy reach. The various amenities provided are currency exchange, doctor on call, dry cleaning, high speed internet access, wireless internet access, laundry service, library, lift/elevator, lobby, non smoking rooms, parking facilities -at cost, reception, smoke free hotel and sauna. Breakfast included. Lord Nelson Hotel has received The Green Key. This is an international environmental award that certifies that this hotel has an environmental policy and is actively working on environmental improvements. Oldie but Goodie

  • MFrancis

The Lord Nelson (and its sister hotel, the Lady Hamilton) is in an ancient building in Gamla Stan, the Olde Towne section of Stockholm. If you're looking for space and luxury, this is not for you. The hotel has plenty of character and is filled with interesting paintings, photos, and artifacts. The two strongest assets are location and service. Olde Towne has several interesting sites, including the magnificent palace and the Nobel Prize musuem, not to mention many good restaurants and some lively night "club" offerings. The hop on-hop off boat service is nearby and takes you to several city locations at a reasonable price. The hotel staff was cheerful, helpful and amazingly responsive. The Lord Nelson is an interesting place to say at a bargain price in expensive Stockholm.

As other reviews indicated, the rooms are very small and the breakfast was a bit short on selection, but the location in Old Town is great and for a single traveler who doesn't have high requirements it is perfect for a short stay in Stockholm.
