Clarion Hotel Stockholm is unique for its state-of-the-art conference facilities, contemporary design and live music. They are located in the trendy area of Sodermalm and are easily reached by underground, taxi or car. The property is less than 10 minutes from central station and old town. Innovative theatres, galleries, clubs, bars and restaurants make the neighborhood a place well worth exploring. There is 24-hour room service and valet parking available. Children 12 and under stay free if sharing room with parents or grandparents when no additional bedding is required. Please note that all Choice hotels in Scandinavia are 100% non-smoking properties. Pet charge: 200 SEK/stay per pet.

Xmas Break

Hotel was excellent. Room was small but well organised, bed was very comfy. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast very good. Added bonus was metro stop was right beside hotel.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

5 mins from hotel is Pelikan restaurant which serves very good traditional Swedish food.

I dont' know Stockholm well, so

I dont' know Stockholm well, so can't comment so much on the location. But staff were friendly, the breakfast was impressive, things were clean, and the room was relatively spacious.

Nice enough hotel + cool reception,

Nice enough hotel + cool reception, but clearly built to a budget. It must have looked fantastic when first finished but now the cheap materials used are already showing their age, which is a shame. Housekeeping is a bit hit and miss, should be better for a 4*. Breakfast (included) was excellent if a bit of a crowded affair. Our bed was far too soft (being picky now, I know, but at £100 a night I can be!). Location in Sodermalm is excellent - out of the centre but only 100m from the Metro which is open 24 hrs (buy a 24/48/72 hour ticket and get better value) and gets you into the centre in 10mins. Or, its actually a nice walk all the way down Gotogatan and into Gamla Stan, especially at the far end nearer the city where it becomes car free. Eat in Soder too - much cheaper than the city. We tried Pelikan which was great and a nice bar too.

There was no safe in the room,

There was no safe in the room, but you can rent a safe by the reception (for free). A little bit strange was the thing, that on weekend or holiday day, you don´t get all things to eat for breakfast, like on "normal" days. (this includes a glas of Nutella). But it was very great for me, that there was salmon for breakfast.
