Berne is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The hotel is in an incredible location. it is across the street from where the pedestrian area begins. They have a small restaurant in a small island in the middle of the avenue, the rooms are very clean. The hotel is nice, the staff is wonderful. We had a 2-year old and a newborn with us, and did not have any problems. The room was a little small, but they were able to fit a crib in the room and we were allowed to leave our really expensive and large stroller with the reception over night. There was a breakfast included, and it was good. They had hard-boiled eggs (which is very common in Europe), meats, cheese and sausages. Overall we were really happy with the hotel, location and value. But for us, it was the ease of moving around with the kids and its proximity to all the sights. We would stay here again!
Oh, parking is nearby for about US30 per day. It's expensive, but it's Switzerland. Not bad.

Double room at Hotel Baeren, Bern

Room was small but very clean. There was no air conditioning, but we were provided with a small oscillating fan. The windows opened onto the courtyard so that we could let in fresh air with virtually no noise. Breakfast was very good. The location could hardly have been better for us, a leisurely five minute walk from the train station & and a block from the Baeren Platz & Parliament Building. Given that Switzerland is unavoidably expensive, this place represents reasonably good value.

Excellent middle priced hotel, right in the centre of Bern; walk out the door and turn left and you're in front on the parliament, turn right, and shopping arcades abound. Walk to the park and look up to see snowy alps... the hotel is competent in the best sense of the word... not too fancy, not too plain. As Goldilocks said, "just right." Breakfast is excellent, you get a free drink at the bar when you check in, but there is no restaurant so ranking dining is not appropriate.

One of Berne's best 4 star hotels. The hotel forms the modern part of what is a mainly traditional building. The hotel is actually part of the Berne Kursaal, which incorporates a casino, various restaurants and meeting facilities. It is opposite Berne's old town on the other side of the Kornhaus Bridge, set back from the road.

Small beds but is very near to the train station you can walk whith your lougage and all the time are buses in the front of the hotel to go to the center in 2 or 3 minutes

Great location in the middle of everything, with no outside noise (some random noise occasionally from hotel renovations). High quality hotel although a bit pricey. Great rooms.

It is 7 minutes from the old town by tram (stop in front of hotel). The hotel has a restaurant, bar, Internet corner and 6 meeting rooms (3444 sq. ft. [320 m²]) with free Wi-Fi. It also offers private parking and a fitness center (paying).

very nice hotel...most of the things are new probably because the hotel is built new..service was nice...restaurant under the hotel also looked great...large shopping are next to the hotel...hotel right in front of the railway station...overall a great choice...if I come back to Bern, I will stay at the same place most likely..i had a satisfying experience...

Easy to find the hotel. Very helpful staff. Local train line 50metres from hotel takes only 8mins to reach the town centre of Berne. Spotlessly clean very comfortable and worth the 75 Euros we paid for one night plus 8 Euros for the car park and 3 more for local tax. Didn't have breakfast. This was early October 2010.

A staff at the front desk was very friendly. Actually another guy was the same too. I was allowed to check in around 12 pm, 2 hr earlier than regular time, when a room was ready.
The location is super. Only a short walk across street from the train station.
The only drawback is that there was no free internet.

Great place to stay in Bern

Great location, could walk to all sites.Room was very nice and large enough with its own washroom. Staff are very helpful.
Local people jump in the river and float downstream.It looked like a lot of fun but we didn't have anywhere to leave our valuables/clothes. If you bring a dry sack, this would be a great adventure to try for free. The locals didn't use a dry sack, just left there clothes where they jumped in and then got out later and walked back. They seemed very trusting and the crime must be low but since we had wallets and passports and didn't want to walk back to hotel (20-30min) on this hot day (30deg C on July 17th)we opted just to watch them.

The hotel Ador in Berne Switzerland was a pretty basic hotel with plain concrete walls in the hallways that were not painted or decorated. The location was convenient to the old town, but no extras and the room including the bathroom was small. Breakfast was okay, but you should skip the salad bar and dessert buffet for dinner. In addition, it is not the American version of all-you-can-eat buffet--just a one trip! The waiter did not speak English, but we were able to get a translation through the desk clerk...

The location of the hotel is very convenient with only a <10 min walk or short bus to the main train station and old town. It is located in close to the university and the surroundings are very nice. The rooms have all recently been refurbished and the breakfast room is just about to re-open (early Aug 2011). Highly recommended.

A nice hotel not far from the city centre however unless you are a good walker and dont mind uphill treks you will need to use the bus.
Rooms very spacious and clean excellent bathrooms, breakfast good. Service ok did not receive pre booked room call on check out morning could have been a problem if I had overslept.

The only reason I chose this hotel is its location, which is so close to the main street and train station. The hotel room was adequate, spacious enough for three of us. It didn't have AC, but it turned out it was not necessary at all as it turns pretty chilly in the evening hours. The room is a little bland, but pretty clean. My daughter wanted to get online, which was not available in this hotel, but the staff told us to go across the street to anther hotel by the same owner for free computer access in the lobby. Our price included breakfast, which is quite OK. Overall we are satisfied with our stay.

I stayed in a lot of hotels in Switzerland at various places, and this one was probably the best for the price. It was very clean and comfortable. It was very convenient to get to from the train station (walking distance easily, even with suitcases) and had a nice view onto the street and roof tops. The only small downside was we had a street room, and it could be a bit noisy at night. Su d carrys very well with the stone street and walls.
They also had a very pleasant buffet breakfast.

In this writer's opinion, this is Switzerland's best presented hotel. The craftsmanship involved in every aspect of its restoration is a credit to all involved. Highly recommended! RY 0208 This is a very grand building which is very traditional in style and therefore blends in very well with its surroundings. This hotel is centrally located next to the 'Bundeshaus', the seat of government, and within walking distance of the medieval city centre with its quaint shopping arcades and legendary fountains.

During our trip to Switzerland we stayed at 5 hotels in different cities. This one was the most humble of them, because I had a hard time finding availability in Bern - I was a bit hesitant, to say the least. When I got off the elevator on my floor and saw an open door to a shared bathroom, I almost freaked out. Thankfully, my fears subsided when I opened the door to our room, which did have its own bathroom. Everything was clean, the room had the basic things we needed, and I was very relieved.
Breakfast was good, at par with what we got at nicer hotels. They even had a little balcony if you prefer to eat outside.
One tip: you may want to bring something to cover your eyes if you plan on sleeping in late, because the curtains to the room were pretty sheer. It wasn't a problem for us because we had to wake up early anyway (and we were tired enough to sleep through a bit of light when we needed a nap).

Mein Partner hat dieses Hotel im Internet nach den Bildern ausgesucht, welche sehr schön aussahen. Als wir jedoch im Hotel angekommen sind, traf uns fast den Schlag! Das Zimmer entsprach überhaupt nicht den Bildern, sondern sah ganz anders aus.Das Zimmer war dreckig und verstaubt. Beim WC ist der Spülkasten kaputt und Das Lavabo rünnt. Die Dusche (eigentlich Badewanne) ist innen kaputt und nicht repariert. Die Bettdecke hatte rote und braune Flecken, als ob sie noch nie gereinigt wurde. Als wir am nächsten Morgen zum Morgenessen-Buffet kamen(zu der Zeit die uns genannt wurde) war es bereits von anderen Gästen gelehrt und wurde auch nicht wieder aufgefüllt, obwohl wir darum gebeten haben! Die einzige Angestellte die in dem Hotel zu finden war war sich keiner Schuld bewusst und wir mussten den vollen Preis von CHF 150 bar bezahlen! Ich empfehle dieses Hotel garantiert niemandem weiter und bin masslos enttäuscht!

This hotel was great. It was in a quiet part of town and within walking distance to shops, restaurants and attractions. The room was a bit small but this is typical for most Swiss hotels. The staff was friendly and knowledgable. Free breakfast and internet were great and the price was very reasonable. Would definitely stay again!

Our city centre hotel offers 162 beds in 103 contemporary single, double and three-bed rooms.
As the capital's biggest 3-star hotel, we are also able to offer even large groups the perfect solution for overnight accommodation. Very basic room but comfortable

Very basic room but comfortable and there were common tea making, internet and excercise areas. Internet was free. Breakfast had a limited range but ok. Located in heart of old city. Walking distance to the main train station and with a metro very close. Good hotel for a short stay.

Excellent location. Staff is nice. It is pity the wifi is not free. They have a computer room but is was always full. We had our room looking to the street that is normally a quiet one but we suffered from extremely big noise in the very early morning because of the vans carrying goods to the shops.
(An other advice: visiting restaurants in Bern always check your bill.)
