Room was large but old, and no internet connection in the room. We had no hot water in the morning due to some piping problems they had.

Largest Room of our three country trip. Our room faced the beautiful river! Beautiful grounds, adjacent parking, and hotel is located perfectly from train station. Would definitely stay here again on return to Interlaken .

Located in a very quiet area with short access to the center. The Stella is a very particular small family-run hotel with great sense for details, decorations, flowers and atmosphere. This private property with individual furnitured rooms is managed by the owners, Christine and Werner Hofmann. Smallest 4-star hotel in region, very private and great in small details. Pets are accepted on a request basis and stay free of charge.

The hotel is located very near to Interlaken west railway station. It is just 10 minutes by walk.
But the pricing is bit high considering the small size of the single room. They have a mini bar inside the room. You can use the drinks in it and pay when you check out.
Also the rooms do not have air conditioner. It will be very difficult to stay here in summer. Even in a cold season like this it was soultry for me inside the room.
The hotel is very clean and they offer a decent breakfast.
The reception staff are cordial and provide very good information about the city and tourist spots. But they work only till 11 PM and after that recption staff will answer only emergency calls. Thus it is difficult to get some information in late night.

Very clean nice rooms. Very quiet. A little small, but it was only my husband and me, so we didn't mind. GORGEOUS view of Aare River and Swiss Alps!! Good breakfast buffet included. Scrambled eggs, bacon, croissants, juice, Muesli, and yogurt. Very knowledgeable front desk staff. You could buy tickets to anything from them. My only problem was that it was just a little too far to either train station to walk with big suitcases. We took a cab for 16-20 CF. (You could walk it more easily if you just have backpacks.)

This is a pleasant hotel with a mixture of architectural styles ranging from Medieval to modern. The hotel is now non smoking in both the rooms and the restaurant. Part of the building dates back to the 15th century, but a new, modern wing has recently been added with conference facilities, overlooking the gardens. A plaque indicating Lord Byron once stayed there hangs near the entrance! This centrally located hotel is situated near the town's main green, requiring
a five minute walk to reach major shops and restaurants.

After the inconveniece of the volcano which curtailed my stay here last year, I decided to return. This is the best hotel I have stayed in. The hotel dates from 1491 and has loads of character, you may even get to sleep in the rom once occupied by Lord Byron. I was here in April for 8 nights and the pricing suited me. Most of the other guests appeared to be only there for one night or so. The rooms are clean and have a chalet style feel to them they are roomy and have the usual satellite TV, tea coffe making facilities etc. There was a small but adequate balcony just metres away from the the Aare river and is sitiated next to the Japanese gardens. The rail station - Ost - is only 10 minutes away and the town is the same in the opposite direction. I enjoed my breakfats to which offered both hot and cold food and plenty bread options. The staff were very helpful and all in al I thoroughly enjoyed it here.

Loved this Hotel, we had a great view and a very comfortable room. Breakfast was fantastic, a lot to choose from. The rooms were decorated in a traditional feel, but were very nicely done. Free internet in the rooms. Would definitely recommend.

This hotel is fairly central, only a few minutes walk from the main shopping area. The rear of the hotel overlooks the river and the front faces the famous Jungfrau peak.

This hotel is a really delightful property. It's location is its biggest strength or weakness depending on your point of view; either "non-central" or, more likely, "off the beaten track". Recommended! 0409SR This hotel is actually quite new, but is built in typical Swiss chalet style with colourful flower boxes and a dark wood facade. This hotel enjoys a rural location surrounded by fields just outside Interlaken on the way to Thun lake. Both the lake and the village are about 15 minutes walk.

This hotel is of a very good standard and offers friendly, personal service. The hotel is now non smoking. 0109SR The building is modern in design and used to be a block of residential flats. The proprietors have tried to make the facade as attractive as possible by planting many flowers and potted plants outside the building. This hotel is situated just a short stroll from Interlaken West train station and the main shopping area.

Although this hotel isn't the newest, nicest in the area; for the money it is a great deal. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and the breakfast that was included was satisfactory. Just a 5 minute walk from the Interlaken West train station, with the shopping district just as close, this is a great location. The room was big enough and the bathroom was a decent size as well. There is a small balcony attached to the room, but it didn't do much except provide a good view of the neighboring hotel.

Description
This hotel has very interesting architecture and is located in its own beautiful grounds. It is run by a youthful manager who also runs a well known backpackers’ hostel located next door. Consequently there is a lively atmosphere and guests are actively encouraged to join in with the many sporting and outdoor activities for which this region is becoming increasingly well-known. PL 06/07 The exterior of the building is very impressive. With its traditional Swiss style architecture it looks like a mini-chateau. This hotel is located in its own attractive and well maintained gardens, not far from the main town centre.

This hotel's location is either its greatest strength or weakness depending on your point of view, since it is not central, but is absolutely spectacular. A great spot for families though. PL 11/06 The hotel consists of two buildings, the main one is traditional and attractive in style but the other is more modern and lacks character. This hotel is located on the main road to Interlaken and only 10 minutes’ drive from the town, it is set in beautiful surroundings overlooking the lake.

Room smelled like oil, Carpet was gross dirty, Walls and hallways were dirty and internet was only available in lobby area. bathroom & beds were clean. this is a 2 star hotel at it's best. The 3 star rating is WRONG! and thus this hotel is WAY over priced. Would NEVER stay here again.

The staff was very friendly. It was quite hard to find and not marked well. The mapquest map was wrong as far as the location of the hotel. Instead of looking for the hotel name, look for the pizza restaurant that is located on the first level. The building was very old and quite outdated but the room was large and bed was comfortable. It is in a great location, near the alps and centrally located. It had a good, free brunch each morning with juice, coffee, rolls and eggs.

Went skiing, a little far from slopes, takes really about two hours each way, not one. Breakfast was very good, ate dinner here one night and the food was great. Beds were comfortable and daughter was up in loft bed. We would stay again, great location for public transportation.

An OK stay. Bed had foot board - can't fit into bed with one. Belatedly - on 2nd day - made full accomodation by removing it. Sort of Ikea furniture in room. Redeeming virtue of place is super friendly family owner/operator.

My wife and I stayed here in June 2009. We usually stay at 4 or 5 star hotels but decided to stay here based on other reviews. We were pleasantly surprised with the hospitality and warmth from the owners of the hotel. The service and included breakfast turned what would be a 2 star hotel into a 4 star hotel at minimum. Since we stayed here during the summer, I can imagine that the hotel is very cozy during winter as its close to ski slopes and the to Alps and to Interlaken West train station. It has a great location and the owners are very helpful in advising what activities to do with your amount of time.

A good choice for the budget traveller to Interlaken! This hotel is excellent for younger travellers due to the young management and facilities.
