Ein Aufenthalt im Jailhotel ist einfach besonders. Man schläft in ehemaligen Zellen und auch das ganze Hotel hat noch überall alte Gefängnistüren und ähnliches. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, das Personal freundlich und auskunftsbereich. Die Lage des Hotels ist unschlagbar gleich neben der Fußgängerzone. Die Zimmer sind vll nur eine Spur über Jugendherberge, aber mit Dusche und WC im Zimmer.

Room is clean, bed is very comfortable, decoration is decent.

The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from Lucerne railway station. The ensuite room was not large but we had a small balcony to enjoy and the bed was comfortable and the shower hot. The hotel is a short walk from the lake, restaurants and attractions. I would certainly recommend this hotel to a friend.

Convenient location near railway station. Room somewhat small and with limited headroom. No door on bathroom, open vanity in bedroom itself.

The location of this hotel was great! Just a one minute walk to the train station and to the rest of Lucerne. If we went back to Lucerne, I would stay at this hotel again because it was so conveniently located to all of the sites. In addition, the room was very modern, clean and comfortable. The only draw back is that there is no view of the lake or sites. Our bedroom window opened to an alley/parking area. The breakfast buffet was adequate and was held in the hotel restaurant.

The hotel is in a great location, easy parking, and close to the train station. The staff were nice, but the room was very small and the beds were more like cots with a mattres.

Take the train from Zurich and get off at the rear of the train - use the underpass and you will arrive a few steps from this small but comfortable hotel - excellent buffet breakfast - for Switzerland - excellent pricing Would highly recommend for business travelers

Fabulous location and hot water for tea or coffee was readily available from the cafe near the foyer. Could be very noisy if you wanted to open the windows but great in winter.

The hotel was very helpful in arranging our airport transfer from Zurich to Lucerne, but best to advise the hotel at the onset to preferably have a male driver who can lift and carry big luggages in the vehicle. Our family had 7 big luggages and several hand carry luggages so it was very difficult for the female driver to fix our luggages. My brother and husband basically did it for her. The female driver was not a very safe driver either who drove without wearing a seatbelt more than halfway of the travel and even let go of the steering wheel when she removed her jacket while driving. Our hotel room was very clean and bathroom was spacious. But there is no bathroom door and the hair dryer was quite weak and not very hot so it was hard to dry my hair in the cold weather. But the breakfast spread was quite good with various fresh fruits, breads, assorted cold meats and cheeses, cereals and juices. Te hotel is very conveniently located and close to the city center about 7-8 minutes walk.

Breakfast is not the best, but ok. Location is unbeatable. Gym is small but clean. Room was clean and nothing to complain about. You can get lost though in the hotel as it is big and has 3 wings.

Perfect location next to train station, old town and waterfront. The concierge desk was always staffed with friendly and helpful people who went above the call of duty to insure our satisfaction.

Very clean and very well designed hotel. Convenient walking distance to attractions. Only issue is it is rather pricey.

Service is excellent at this hotel though I didn't reserve lake view room. So I would like to stay this hotel again if I'll go to Lucern.

This hotel was a great location to see the sites! I was there with my husband, my 16 month old son, and my sister for just one night. We wanted to be close so we could see as much as possible while we were there, without wasting time commuting. If you stay at the hotel, there is a 10% discount at the nearby parking garage (coming to 23CHF for 24 hours). The hotel provided a crib. I had asked for it in a memo during the reservation, but they did not get it- however, there was no problem getting them to set one up last minute when we checked in. The complementary continental breakfast was great- not just bread and cheese like some European breakfasts. We had a great room with a balcony overlooking the shopping district below. No problem with noise or traffic though. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone.

This hotel was in a great location, however the facilities were a problem. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and also no iron or ironing board. Apart from this, it was a clean hotel with friendly staff.

Absolutely excellent. Only problem was that our sat-nav took us to Wurmistrasse which is the road name for its side entrance. The receptionist opened the electric gate for us with his 'remote'. It can be reached directly off the motorway. We have used Luzern and Milan on our journey from Dunkirk to souther Italy. Both are excellent value and well positioned.

This was a great stay on way back to England from Italy. The only bad thing I could say was it was a little harder to get to then I thought it would have been.

Gute Lage in der Innenstadt, allerdings hatten wir ein Zimmer zur Strasse. Freundliche und hilfsbereite Behandlung an der Rezeption. Kein Kaffee / Kaffekanne am Tisch im Frühstücksraum. Der Kaffee muss tassenweise von einer Kanne geholt werden.

Waren für ein Kurztrip in Luzern. Sauberes Zimmer,sehr gut ausgestattet mit Modernes TV, Kaffeekapselmaschine(gratis), gutes Qualität-Fön u.s.w. Freundliches Personal, gutes Frühstückbuffet alles was ein 3*** Sterne Hotel Braucht. Sehr schöne Lage in der Altstadt.

all facilities are new, clean, location's good, price's ok, but one male receptionist age around 40s is not so friendly, the younger one around 20s is, on the contrary, more kind and energetic.

Ideal Location in Luzern very close to the train station easy walk to all the main attractions with good resturants close by. Good clean room with good service.

Single room was good. Some might find it small, but it was of similar size to other single rooms in European hotels. Location was handy for the train station and walking into town. I did read reviews complaining about the noise when leaving the windows open at night, but too cold when I stayed and no problems with noise when the windows are closed. Power points where in inconvenient locations, especially for using a lap top. Staff were friendly and helpful, and food in the attached restaurant was good.

This hotel is convenient to the Lion Monument, Glacier Park and downtown area. Parking is nearby and the stay was comfortable.

This is the second time we stayed in this hotel, everything is good and worth the money.

Le service est dplorable, la reception n'ouvre pas avant 10H00 ce qui pose problme lorsqu'on veut quitter l'hotel avant cette heure, deplus la receptionniste est arrive 10H10 sans la moindre excuse.Le parking est loign de l'hotel. Pas de machine caf, ni de boissons diponible... enfin c'est un hotel que je dconseille.

The room was just like the photos, and very accessible from the train station. We walked it. Of course our luggage had wheels. The internet is not as easy to use nor is the wifi, not accessible in your room and no real lobby area. Perfect for the price. After spending two weeks in hotels, this was a pleasant surprise.

Great. Very chic hotel, but the staff was extremely helpful - unlike some art hotels in the US. Great location, outside of the tourist area but within in walking distance. Don't miss the Rosengart museum.

Others have said it, and I agree... the Hotel is fabulous! From the moment we stepped into the ultra stylish lobby to when we sadly said good-bye, our stay was flawless. The Hotel is like staying in a gorgeous modern art installation, in a good way. Each detail, from the interplay of gleaming stainless to the warmth of dark wood, is carefully planned and executed. The lighting is dark and dramatic, and the staff, dressed in black (of course) is charming, helpful and remembers who you are, your room number, etc. Our favorite highlights included eating in the restaurant, Bam Bou and looking up to a high window that looked into the lobby - whenever someone would walk in, it looked like a giant screen - the guests becoming part of the art. We also loved the glowing night stands and ceiling mural. The room was huge, the bathroom perfect, the amenities (robes, body care items, sheets, etc.) luxurious. The steel outdoor louvered blinds (controlled by a bedside button) effectively blocked out any light and greatly reduced the minimal street noise and church bells. The neighborhood is perfect - the hotel sits across from a small park, plus it's only a 5 minute walk from the train station or the old town. However, if you prefer classic, old school hotels or are very conservative, this is not the hotel for you. But isn't doing the same old thing, boring? You ARE cool enough to stay here. Give it a try! And may I end with?... well worth the price!

This hotel was beautiful, and comfortable. The staff was very helpful, and the view from our balcony was unbeatable. It would be nice if they offered transportation to the train station, but it was such a nice day that we didn't mind the walk.

The we stayed in was a corner room in the new wing. It overlooked Lake Lucerne and a commanding view of Mt Pilatus. The hotel is located away from the city centre but you can take a nice half hour walk along the lake side to reach the city centre. The Transport Museum is much nearer and definitely strongly recommended for those travelling with children. The counter staff are very helpful in providing information on getting around to the popular destinations eg. Mt Pilatus and Mt Rigis.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. We chose hotel for view of mountains and Luzern but the first night were given a room in the back with no view. Had to go back to manager to discuss room change from what was booked. Manager did correct things for the next night. The view was awesome. The buffet breakfast was better than expected and had a great selection.

An annexe to the Best Western. No facilities other than rooms. Excellent location, couldn't be better. Surgically clean rooms. All themed differently. Breakfast Buffet at the Best Western, 130m away was fine. Walls a bit thin, amorous couples beware. Bed was very comfy. TV very small and only CNN in English. No bathroom in the 'Swiss Chalet' room.

A very nice hotel where you are made to feel special.

The staff was very friendly even after a very long and foggy drive from Germany. The parking situation was disappointing, but overall the overnight stay was pleasant. Breakfast was an unexpected pleasure, very good.
