- Easily reached by car, train, airplain: 2 km from the highway's exit "Lugano Sud" (coming from north just after the tunnel, careful! 1.5 km from Lugano central railwaystation (bus nr. 2 direction Paradiso, get out at stop Migros Geretta. Than walk in the same direction of the bus and you will see the Hotel Carioca. To the Calipso and Calipso Park turn right before the Hotel Carioca and then left) Train time table 60 km from Milano-Malpensa airport (Italy) 7 km from Lugano's airport

mediocre hotel
- Parking is not included (15 CHF per night). The hotel practices "overbooking" for the parking, even though we paid for it had to park outside when getting back to the hotel late at night, the parking was full. - Late at night, there was sometimes no one at the reception, we had to just walk in to get our key. Incidentally, we could have gotten any key, at any time of the day for that matter, different receptionists and no control whatsoever to check if you were not a thief. - The water in the room shower was cold then lukewarm then warm finally after letting the water run for a loooong time, every day. - The fitness were just a few rusty machines laid in the corridor... - The "breakfast buffet" was nothing more than a lowly "continental breakfast" (not much more than jam on toasts, and some fruit salad from a can). - No fridge/minibar in the room - The hotel location was hard to find - In the room, green blinking light right above the bed, a bit annoying - bed too short - chlore smell in the lobby corridor from the inner swimming pool - the doors of the wardrobe were squeaking - sauna was ok, but you have to ask reception first, have 7 CHF added to your bill and wait for them to set it up - the roof terrace was nice.

Plutôt bof
Hôtel sans charme, service minimum. Petit-déjeûner buffet peu attractif. Prix élevé pour les prestations offertes.
