BEST WESTERN Hotel Montana

I stayed overnight at the Zurich hotel during very bad climate conditions. I, however, was very pleased, and I found that the hotel quality, service, and general feel was the apex of my Zurich experience.

The Best Western Hotel Montana was an extremely good value. The room was nicer than even the picture. It had a comfortable bed, nice en-suite bathroom with hair dryer, etc. The breakfast buffet had many selections and was served in a spacious and nicely decorated restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful also. Best of all was the location. There was an entrance to the rail station just down the street and the location of the tour excursion pick-up was also very close. Not to mention, that the hotel was on a quiet street in the scenic old section of the city with only a 10-minute train ride to the airport. If I return to Zurich, I definitely plan to stay at this hotel.

Telephoned Montana the previous evening ands arranged for a noon check-in, in order to facilitate a planned afternoon side trip to Konstanz. Upon arrival at 12:30, we were told that room was not ready yet because they were fully booked. After brief discussion we were told room would be ready in 30 minutes (at 13:00). However, at 13:15 room was still not ready. After another brief discussion we were told our room would be ready very soon. Finally got into room about 13:25 (which is essentially their normal check-in time = 14:00). All this time we were sitting in the rather cramped lobby on chair and sofa that met only minimal comfort standards. Net result was unwelcomed stress plus a monkey wrench in our afternoon schedule. Strategy of reception person seemed to be delaying action; she was not trying to be responsive to our requests.

Clean, very modern, comfortable rooms, efficient service, good location for travellers being within 10 mins walk of main Zurich rail station, and maybe 20 mins to the lake shore. Substantial buffet breakfast included in price. Maybe not where you'd want to be for a long stay, being in a rather drab part of town, but if you're just passing through, recomended.

Great location close to the station and downtown. Only a short walk to the old town. Staff very helpful. Walls between rooms could have been thicker - we were woken by our neighbours early one morning.

Able to walk from train to hotel. Room adequate but no tea making facilities. Beds good but covers too hot with no alternative. Breakfast included which is good.

The hotel and staff were excellent however I would not recommend the hotel restaurant as the food was poor quality and over priced.

A good quality hotel well situated in close proximity to rail and tram. Good breakfast supplied and very good service and assistance from staff.

Very confinent for train travellers (3 min walk)

Clean hotel, excellent bed, i spent a quiet night. only negative point - expresso is not inclusive in continental Breakfast, it is charged separately.
