Modern and posh
Close to many bars and nightlife. The room we stayed in had a washer and dryer. There are two computers in the lobby you can use for free. We would go back if we are in Bangkok again.

Short walk from hotel
If you are looking for tailored suits, go to Gulati. It is on Sukhumvit Soi 6, a close walk from the hotel. Tuk tuks will never take you there because they don't get comissioned. Almost everyone that walks into Gulati is a referral. We are very happy with their professionalism and the suits we got.

Charges
When I booked in I was charged 2000BAHT 'security' deposit. When I checked out they claimed to have refunded this but having checked my card statement they had not. I wrote to them and asked for the refund and they said it would take 14 days to investigate. Since then they do not respond to my emails. The whole of the road outside was dug up and many taxis refused to drive down there leaving passengers to struggle with their luggage - in the rain! Never again!

Amazingly expensive
I booked this hotel stay and it was by far the most expensive compared to the one I booked earlier it was a total of 115USD difference. The hotel didnt provide daily breakfast nor did it have any wi-fi in the room, no lan cable for internet that is just totally inconvenient.

Divine Madman
Ideal Hotel
Phachara was the perfect hotel for me. I knew it was going to be something special when a total stranger told me at check in that I had chosen hotels wisely. Phachara is the perfect escape. I loved being able to step out of the chaotic madness in the city below and then go upstairs to watch it all from a peaceful retreat high in the tower. My suite happened to be on the 16th floor and the view was spectacular. The rooms were clean and tastefully decorated. I normally hate spending time in hotel rooms, but on this trip I actually spent a considerable amount of time there. Being so close to the BTS was also a big plus. This was my first trip to Bangkok so I do not have anything to compare it to, but I have no interest in checking out the other options. I did the research, and I will stay there every time I go back. The cost is definitely worth it. Maybe I have already said too much...
