Salil Hotel Sukhumvit - Soi Thonglor 1

A very nice boutique hotel tucked into a quiet soi, away from the busy main road. It was easy to get to the train station by foot but you can also use the hotel's tuk tuk free service. Many eateries nearby. All the staff are very friendly and accomodating. I will definitely stay at Salil again.

Nice rooms. excellent staff. Very clean rooms, well equipped and very well serviced. My only complaint is the shower was TERRIBLE! The adjustments were either full hot, or full cold, with less than a millimeter of handle movement separating them... I made a complaint - which wasn't actioned, then speaking with another guest on my last night, found he also was having a similar problem with HIS shower, so I suspect the problem wasn't just isolated to my room. Shame really, as that was the ONLY thing that let the place down.

my wife and I have stayed in this hotel 4 times in the past 3 months and keep coming back due to the very good value for money, quality of the rooms, personal service due to the small boutique size and family owned style of management. The rooms are very well fitted and comfortable, plenty of cable channels, comfortable beds, reasonable breakfast served daily in their quiet and relaxing cafe. Location is not in the centre of city but close to Thonglor BTS station and free shuttle from hotel. recommended for couples looking for good value for money and quality, not so great for families due to size and lack of pool etc.

The staff are extremely friendly, the hotel is small but smartly designed with quiet cafe with leafy terrace. The rooms are well configured with well designed bathroom, large desk, DVD player and large LCD TV, free DVD library in the reception area. Each room has a small terrace opening onto a breezy,leafy garden. The breakkfast buffet served in the cafe is very good, maid service is excellent, room cleaned daily. Thonglor BTS station a few minutes away with free tuk tuk service to drop you off. If you book your room in multiples of 4 (4. 8, 12 nights etc on [website]) then you will receive 1 free night for every 4 you book, a great deal and brings the room price down to about THB 1200 per night. (this deal may not always be available) I find this is the best value for money in a new and well serviced hotel with smiling staff, good location. I would reccommend this hotel highly to anyone travelling on a budget but still looking for a little luxury and good "very" clean facilities.

5 minutes from the sky train. Nearly everything convenient within a city block. Quiet location in the center of a block so it avoids all traffic noise. Coffee shop was way too expensive for what they offered. No dressers for clothes but a good closet. Flat screen TV and huge king bed. All in all; a bargain! Staff was marginal with service and English proficiency.

I am extremely disappointed with my time spent at Salil Hotel Thonglor. The woman at the tour desk stole thousands of baht from me. I have spent the past week and a half trying to communicate with management about this. They had been completely unresponsive until yesterday when they sent me an email disclaiming liability. They insisted that because she was there on contract, they are not liable for her illegal acts. This is absurd because they never made it clear to any of their patrons that she did not represent the hotel. Her desk is right next to the reception!! I think it is reasonable that I thought that she represented the hotel. I would never have transacted with this woman if I knew the hotel would not accept responsability for her actions. I am so disappointed that this seemingly reputable hotel thinks that this is how you do business.

Pros: - Smartly decorated hotel and rooms - rooms and bed are very clean - quiet hotel 3 blocks from BTS Cons: - no hot water - the staff, while polite, are totally unhelpful and dim - terrible location - very welcoming of sex tourists - the ppl at the tour desk are not to be trusted. At all. Just book things you're interested in doing online. They will lie to you, and steal from you if given the opportunity.

The hotel is a bit of a hike from Sukhumvit (at least 10 minutes at a good pace, I think). However, they do offer a free shuttle both ways, which they seemed good about providing promptly. And once you do get to Sukhumvit, you are right at the BTS. Mostly, I have positive things to say about this hotel. The restaurant is reasonably priced, the staff were friendly, the rooms were clean and attractive. They were a little small, but not to the point of being a problem. I'd consider staying here in the future, if the price is right.
