beautiful tranquil get away
wonderful surroundings: beautiful lush gardens, art work., gorgeous water features and good food at hotel restaurant. very helpful staff. Phuket island itself is heavily commercialized, and this hotel is a very nice tranquil escape. Rooms are small for American standards, but have all the amenities, including robes, and slippers. Mosquitos are a problem, so bring lots of really good repellant yourself.

Fantastic!
Fabulous hotel, great ambiance, wonderful staff! This hotel made my holiday in Thailand special as it makes you believe one is in a diffrent world, very peaceful, very elegant, a little paradise. I can't recomand it enough!

Dine in the hotel restaurant ( Thai cuisine) as it is one of the best I've eaten and the price is very good.

Really wonderful...
This hotel is really quite wonderful. We stayed (my girl "friend" and I) for 5 days and had a fantastic time. The rooms are great and very clean, the grounds of the property are very (VERY) lush with greenery and koi ponds, and the overall atmosphere in the hotel is really calm. The restaurant (and free breakfasts) was also really top (and the spa...THE SPA!) As with all things, nothing is perfect. The surrounding area is a bit seedy, but that can be expected in Phuket. Likewise, some of the drivers for the hotel seem to have an agreement with some of the tourist sites and push really hard for you to "go see the jewelry factory" or "eat at this restaurant." It's never truly awkward as a "no thank you" was enough, but still...it's also a bit of a walk to the beach, but they do provide hourly free bus trips to Kata beach...so this is only a problem if you wanted to walk around at night or in the evening on the beach. Only other 'complaint' was that like many other reviews, the hotel doesn't seem to understand billing [...]correctly. They tried to have me pay a second time when it was clear I had already paid. Again, after a few pictures of bank statements and reassurances things were fine, but it was a definite moment of non-wonderfulness.That was it though. This place is really great and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. If you go, you MUST take advantage of their in house spa. It's beautiful and well run. If you're looking for a relaxing hotel to stay at in Phuket, this is definitely a top choice.

Short drive from hotel
Taking the Phi Phi island excursion is a bit pricey but my GOD was it worth it. Some of the most beautiful places in the world. Don't be cheap...get the deluxe package/speedboat.
