Location
The Old Phuket-Karon Beach Resort is located in the central of tranquil Karon Beach, charming and beautiful with its spectacular view of swimming pool and hilly. The Old Phuket is a Sino-Portuguese-style creation that evokes memories of the 19th century and offers its guests a warm welcome.

one star at best
Room was not ready so they gave us another one and made us move at noon the next day. Only one key per room. Room was alway too hot. Air conditioning was poor. Hotel staff did not want to help much for a serious issue. Taxi arranged for airport by tour agency at hotel was 30 minutes late.

Great experience!
Our hotel was great! The staff knew it was our honeymoon and decorated our bed with all kinds of flowers and folding two towels into kissing swans. It was a great way to be welcomed. The staff is extremely friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment the cab dropped us off. The rooms are simple, but set up very nicely. We stayed in a Deluxe room with a pool view and were very happy. We were there in low season, so it was very quiet, but I have a suspicion the walls are pretty thin, so it might be a bit loud during the busy season. The pool was gorgeous. The location was great, because you walk out into a strip of restaurants, massage shops, and stores before you head to the beach, so you have everything at your fingertips. A couple of the restaurants offered free WiFi, which was nice because a WiFi card had to be purchased to get access at the hotel. We HIGHLY recommend Karma Massage right outside the hotel - they are SOOO friendly, do an excellent job, and the price is right. We went back about half a dozen times for oil massages, facials, and foot massages - they are absolutely wonderful. The beach out front is pretty, as are most beaches in Phuket, but the beach was actually quite littered with debris that had washed on shore. I don't know if it was a fluke, timing, or what, but it was a little disappointing. We spent most of our beach days in Kata beach, which was a quick drive away. We would definitely go back to the Old Phuket hotel in a heartbeat.

We hired a driver (the manager of the hotel's tour desk) to drive us for ten days during our trip. We paid about 1000 Baht per day, which came out to about $30/day. It was great - the driving in Thailand is quite chaotic, so it took the stress away from renting a car or worrying about finding tuk-tuks everywhere we went, plus it was much cheaper than if we had used tuk-tuks and cabs. Just make sure to negotiate the terms very clearly - price per day, how many days, the hours that the driver will be available for your (ours was 8:30am-8:00pm, with a couple of late night exceptions), etc.

Que dire super !!! nous avions
Que dire super !!! nous avions réservé une villa exclusive avec jacuzzi, super bien , acceuil super, grande chambre, douche et jacuzzi extérieure, piscine de l'hotel impeccable et petit dejeuner copieux et varié, très bon emplacement à quelques pas de la mer et des commerces... à recommander les yeux fermés.
