Great Location and Value
Great hotel and very attentive/helpful staff. While the room was small (we stayed in a standard room), it was well laid out and perfectly comfortable for our 8 nights in Istanbul. The hotel is conveniently located to all the major tourist sites and the nearby tram line. The complimentary breakfast was excellent! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends. Our only minor complaint was that the WiFi in our room was weak, but was perfectly adequate in the comfortable downstairs lounge area... which aslo had free water, coffee, and snacks.

Great for singles to families
If you are looking for a cozy warmly decorated hotel in the heart of the historical, artistic and architectural wonders of Istanbul with a fabulous breakfast and a super friendly staff - this is it! We walked everywhere, showing our four children the Blue Mosque, Haghia Sofia, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar, the Bosphorus. Food generally cheaper further away and exchange rates better.

food tends to be cheaper further from Sultanamet Square, exchange rates are higher and there are many good shops. The Grand Bazaar is not necessarily the best or cheapest place to shop.

Lovely little gem of a hotel
Me and my husband visited for a short three night break in November 2012 after visiting family nearby. Having stayed in Istanbul five times, this hotel was by far the best we have stayed in. It was a little tricky to find as its situated in the narrow, winding back streets of Sultanahmet but once you get your bearings its easy. The reception staff will mark the hotel on a map which is handy to take out with you. The hotel is on a steep hill and you have to climb another steep hill to get to the shops/ tourist area so i would not advise this for those with young children or wheelchair users. The staff are extremely welcoming and always happy to help. The rooms and hotel overall were very clean and comfortable. Rooms come equipped with bathrobes, clean towels daily, tea & coffee facilities and are decorated in authentic turkish style with a modern twist. Upon arrival we received complimentary wine and a fruit basket. Downstairs in the lobby there are tea/coffee making facilities, water, biscuits and cake at no exta charge 24/7, great after a long day sightseeing. Breakfast was plentiful, the usual turkish breakfast - cold meats, cheese, breads, yoghurts, jams and freshly made omlettes/eggs to order. It was really nice to stay somewhere where they were not pushing you to buy food & drink in the hotel at ridiculous prices to make money which most hotels do. Another bonus was the free wifi internet access, if you do not take a laptop with you there is a guest pc to use in the reception area, again at no extra charge. Overall a lovely hotel, great value for money with no surprise extra charges upon arrival! will definitley be returning in the near future.

Short walk from hotel
Visit the Sultanahmet Koftecisi Selim Usta restaraunt, opposite the mosques in sultanahmet on the road where the metro/ tram line runs. Excellent turkish food at a great price.

nice trip
Good hotel, friendly staff, but pure breakfast and wi-fi works only in the corner of room. The street is too noise, if you open your windows

Istanbul Travel
We stayed in hotel Garden House, for five days during our visit in Istanbul. The hotel was small but with the excellent services. The location of the hotel was perfect near to lot of touristic sightseeing, shops and transportation. It was spotlessly cleaned and the linen/towels were changed daily. The main bonus was the garden of the hotel where we could sit at any time and enjoy complimentary cookies, cake and water. The superb breakfast was served every morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We found this place to be excellent for our budget. We highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

A wonderful 4 days in Istanbuk
We have just spent 4 excellent nights at the Garden House Hotel. We would unhesitatingly recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Istanbul. It is in a perfectl location, only a few minutes walk from the principal sights. The rooms are attractive, very clean and extremely comfortable - and exceptionally good value for money. It was quite hot during our stay, and we appreciated the very effective air-conditioning.There is a beautiful garden/outside eating area, which is a haven of peace in this busy city. The buffet breakfast (included in the room price) is excellent, with lots of fresh fruit as well as other local and international offerings. There were also lots of those 'little touches' that make the difference between a nice stay stay and a really memorable one. These included a complimentary half-bottle of wine, a basket of fresh fruit and bottled water in the room, free water and Turkish pastries throughout the day. However, the thing that impressed us most was the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and the Guest Relationship Manager was particularly helpful - he spent time with us to help us plan our visit, suggesting a whole range of things to see and places to eat. And best of all, he then arranged all the reservations and transport when we asked for it! We hope to be able to visit Istanbul again soon, and will certainly stay at the Garden House! confortable but problematic
It was a pleasant stay but with one very big minus- when I arrived- they did not have a free room at the hotel which I reserved and they offered me a room smaller and at the very top without elevator. I said no and was very angry because I already payed for a specific type of room in advance. So after an hour of discussion, they arranged a room for me in neighbor hotel and I spent one night there. I think its a awful practice- the hotel management cannot do such things with clients. Also their standart (they also have lower class -budget- but dont take it) room is ok for a single person but too small for a couple. Otherwise the breakfast is pleasant- its in the garden outside, and the airconditionning worked well and soundless. The location is ok, I would say not bad for old town. On the quiet old little street close to Little Ayasofia. The hotel dont have turkish bath, and no fitness as well. But they have a good wifi, everyday a free bottle of mineral water, a basket of fruits and half a bottle of vine upon arriving and tea/coffee maker in the room. So could be a good choice of accomodation in Istanbul if they dont play games and give you immediately the nice room with great view.

Clean, Comfortable, Close to Sites -- Solid Value
We booked 3 rooms for 5 days. Everything was very clean, beds were comfortable, staff was helpful, and the breakfast buffet was great. All the Sultanahmet sites are within a 10-minute easy walk. We had a couple of small plumbing issues like slow drains and slight odors from one of the rooms' bathroom -- but nothing that I would consider a deal-breaker.
