Excellent Hotel
My total stay in Istanbul was 5 nights, and as I was traveling by my self. I chose to stay at a hotel for convenience. My stay and experience at Gulhane was definitely worthwhile and I would recommend, this hotel to all my friends and every body who would like to have excellent hotel with friendly and helpful staff especially Bayrom who was very very friendly and speaks English fluently. The location is FABULOUS. It is right in front of the Gulhane Park entrance of Topkapi, 5 minutes from Gulhane tram station, 5 from the Cistern Basilica, 10 from Aya Sophia and the Blue Mosque. We even walked all the way to Cemberlitas annd if you're a walker, you can even go up to the Grand Bazar Bathrooms were clean and well-equipped with towels, toilet paper etc. As mentioned earlier, the rooms were spotlessand very clean.

Great Location
two minor grips to an otherwise very saisfactory hotel in a great location for the foreign tourist: - room was a little musty -although breakfast was included, hotel charged 4L for fresh orange juice even though I later noticed a sign stating the juice was 2L, and the staff was very insistent that you pay for the juice when served

be careful
Our exp with hotel manger was very bad.they are there just to milk money. I have to pay extra 75 € for three days for my 5 year old child. One local call cost 23 lira and no explaination offered. Rooms are ok but no where 4*.

Long weekend in Istanbul
The Hotel was ideally located to enable us to walk to all the attractions we wanted to visit. As we arrived it was suggested that the next day would be a good day for a cruise on the Bosphorus, we are really glad we took the advice and paid for this trip as it was more than our expect ions. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast, whilst appearing to offer many choices, was not to our taste, and was disappointing. A plug for the sink would save the Hotel a lot of hot water. All in all our stay at the Hotel Gulhane Park was very enjoyable.

Friends away together
Staff very helpful, nothing too much trouble. Breakfasts very good. Roof terrace with lovely views. Wanted to stay in this area for convenience in January.

Do eat the fish that are harvested daily from the bridge over the Bosphorus. Interesting from all aspects.

great hotel
I spend only my weekend in that place.The hotel is located in close proximity to all of the touristic attractions. couse that my two nights worth all week. and the best thing about this place is the breakfast which is servicing by kindly staffs in the beautiful garden.And I want to thank to arif. I wish I'm coming again and spend more time in istanbul.

Perfect for Istanbul Introduction
We stayed here as part of a four day package. The room was small but could not be faulted on cleanliness or facilities even had we paid twice the price. All the staff were polite, friendly and helpful, the buffet breakfast was excellent with a selection of both Western and Turkish cuisine to sample. The hotel could not be better placed for easy access on foot to most of the 'must see' sites in Istanbul. In addition there are also many excellent restaurants within close walking distance of the hotel as well as that of the hotel itself. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided but our experience was that there was just enough for two days. We had been pre-warned and had taken our own tea bags and coffee, If you like milk with your tea or coffee you will need to buy a small carton from the shop across the road (there is a mini-bar fridge so it will keep OK in there)

You really won't have to walk far from the hotel to find a good restaurant to suit your pocket. This is a big plus for me - no driving, no taxis, just a short pleasant walk!

Don't Go There
We paid in full in advance. We showed up in time just to learn that there was no room available for us.They offered a room in a different, much cheaper, hotel that we refused to accept.

Historic Visits
Comfortable Stay
The hotel and the staff were very welcoming and were on hand whenver needed. The internet was awful! Barely able to connect to any websites. The air conditioning is switched on and off centrally but can control the intensity in your room. There was an issue with the lock on our door and staff were often let themselves in thinking we were not there. The free massage offered with our booking is actually a mechanical massage - very disappointing. Was a great location in a quiet sidestreet approx 5-10 minutes walk from SultanAhmed and 2 minutes away from the main tram line. I would come back there again.

A great place to get food is in Aksaray (on the tram line 5 minutes ride away from SultanAhmed)- cheap and traditional unlike the restaurants in SultanAhmed and the surrounding areas which is not value for money
