With wonderful views of the Blue Mosque and the Marmara Sea, the Hotel Hippodrome was a former Ottoman house, which has been transformed into a modern hotel, whilst retaining the style and atmosphere of the old Ottoman retreat.
Hippodrome offers 36 guestrooms. Televisions come with satellite television channels. Wireless Internet access is provided along with multi-line phones. Bathrooms include slippers, makeup/shaving mirrors, designer toiletries, and hair dryers. Other amenities include minibars, air conditioning, and complimentary bottled water. Amenities available on request include irons/ironing boards and wake-up calls. Housekeeping is provided. Others amenity like Dry cleaning, Lobby and Reception are also provided by this property.

First time in Turkey
It was more than I expected and I would stay there again
The staff was even more attentive and helpful than at 5 Star Hotels. The Hippodrome lacks some amenties, like a spa but I wanted a small, older hotel with a good location. This hotel had good wifi, great electric kettles for in-room drinks and the afternoon "tea party" had wonderful offerings. Breakfasts had an amazing and plentiful selection of goodies. I even learned some Turkish and Tavla, thanks to the Concierge. This more than made up for the fact that my in-room fridge needed de-frosting! The location was perfect for a woman traveling. The location was PERFECT.

Good summer vacation!
The hotel is cozy, good location to all the places you have to visit in Istanbul. There are nice restaurants all around with good food and live turkish music. Mostly the hotel staff are very courteous, polite and friendly. The only thing missing that would have made my stay more enjoyable is my family(Husband and kids). Don't go alone!

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
For the shopping,always bargain. To visit the palaces and museums, go early. If you want to save money to go to the airport, don't take a yellow cab ,instead take a shuttle bus for just 12TL. You have to buy the ticket in advance.

One of the best hotels I have
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed so far. Clean. Buffet breakfast is served at the nearby Best Western and was excellent! Light snacks and drinks are provided free of charge between 3 and 5 pm. Book early as they get fully booked quickly. A few mini supermarkets are just about a minute walk from there.

Hippodrome Hotel- Istanbul- Turkey
The hotel's location is perfect to visit most landmarks, the train station is also at walking distance (about 5minutes). The staff are great, and make your stay very enjoyable. As I was leaving, I forgot a pair of very expensive sunglasses in the hotel room, I left my luggage with the concierge and since I had a few hours before my departure I went to run some last errands. When I went back to the hotel to pick up my luggage to go to the airport, the housekeeper came running down the lobby to give me my sunglasses, although I hadn't even realized that I had forgotten them. I really appreciate her honesty. The receptionist [...] who speaks good English, Russian and some French went beyond his duty to help us daily, explaining to us how to get to different locations etc...he really deserves a raise for his excellent customer service skills. We will definitely return to that hotel and will recommend it to others.

Rip Off
It was a rip off for $200.00 USD a night. The room was so small, cramped and little it was unbelievable. Then we found that there was a better room unoccupied which we asked for but it was really too late. Moreover the front desk receptionist , a male named [...]was sexually harassing one of the party until she finally reported him to the manager and the manager acted like it was a usual thing, dismissed it and did nothing about it. [...] This was a bad deal and I wish to have all of my money refunded on this hotel.
