perfect Istanbul hotel

We just spent 6 nights at Hotel Niles in Istanbul. It was a perfect stay. The staff is marvelous - knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, attentive to every need. The junior suite we had was superb - spacious, comfortable, full of light, with refrigerator, electric kettle and microwave. The hotel is very centrally located in Old Istanbul, a short walking distance from the Grand Bazaar and other famous sites. It is also a short distance from public transportation. The breakfast served in the rooftop dining room was generous and varied. Everything about our stay was excellent and I would recommend Hotel Niles without any hesitation. I look forward to staying there in the future. I should note that I checked out the smaller rooms in the older wing which are to be renovated in the coming year. They are exactly that - smaller: adequate, spotless, but quite short on space. I would aslo like to point out that the hotel would be difficult to access for a handicapped person, as it is located on a rather steep hill. In that respect, Istanbul is not user friendly for anyone in a wheelchair.

Great home base in Istanbul

We were very impressed with the hotel, especially the staff. The location is great, walking distance to many major sites (steps from the Grand Bazaar and major tram line, 10+ minutes to other sites). The rooms were simple - we were in the non-suite - but clean and adequate. Lobby is charming, the public computer with internet worked. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We found that some staff in museums and restaurants in Istanbul were not particularly helpful, which made the friendly smiles and 'at your service' attitude at the hotel even more appreciated. The breakfast is very nice, lots of options, and the rooftop deck/lounge was a pleasant place to unwind, with 24hr small bar for convenicence. The two managers (Kemel & Ahmet I think were their names) were the best- The value/quality ratio of this hotel far exceeded our expectations. I would have given five stars but it is not a luxury hotel with all those related amenities. 4.5 stars! We are LGBT and it made no difference to staff or experience.

Right down the street is a rooftop restaurant with a great view, although the service is lousy. Near the Mexican restaurant....Pierre Lofit I think it's called.

Quaint Hotel with Friendly Staff

Hotel Niles is a basic, quaint hotel with friendly hotel staff and a fantastic rooftop terrace. One of my most memorable moments of Hotel Niles was enjoying a great breakfast on their sunny rooftop terrace overlooking the Marmara Sea.

Hotel Niles Istanbul

The position of the Hotel was ideal for our trip and easy to walk to all the sites. The staff were all very polite and helpful. The rooms were very well serviced. Breakfast could have benefited from an option for hot eggs to be cooked otherwise very good.

Great service, super clean, good Engishl

This is a great hotel in the Fashion business district of Aksaray, Istanbul. The staff delivers personal service and speaks perfect English. The hotel is spotless and the rooms are very comfortable and clean as well. Hotel Niles is highly recommended by this picky traveler as a business/value hotel.

poor service & kindness

i saw information of hotel which renewed interior. but there are old building and new building, i thought that the hotel renewed only half. they gave us a room in old building. it should not happened. there are no water in refrigerator which is not working condition, very small 10 inch television (of course no tooth brush and paste)and when i want to use security box, i have to pay 20euro deposit to receiption beause it is not automatic system, in case of lost of key, 20 euro will be not returned to customer. After check in the room, they are not given proper service. even i ask to buy for us water, tooth brush and paste for traveler who is visited first time in Istanbul city. Above reason, i was disappointed this hotel. i will never use again and it is make me never forgeting of few bad memoriizes in Istanbul.

centrally located and friendly hotel

most enjoyable city break. Helpful staff and a pleasant ambience throughout our 5 night stay. Great roof terrace for breakfast and evening drinks with views of the bosphrous. Rooms basic but very clean and reasonably priced. Strongly recommend that you ask hotel to arrange airport transfers. we made our own arrangement on arrival but the taxi driver got lost!Niles arranged return journey with 05 00h pick up which was on time and reasonably priced.

Not worth the money

Having previously stayed in the Sultanhamet area of Istanbul, I know that the hotels are generally quaint, older and offer a rooftop breakfast with spectacular views. In this regard, the Hotel Niles was no different. The breakfast was adequate with a southern view of the Sea of Marmara. What really did not live up to the standard was an extremely tiny room (rm 506) which was not suited to two people. In addition, there was only one electrical outlet. In today's day and age with the quantity of computers and digital cameras, having to choose which item to plug in on a given night was a hassle. Trying not to be completely negative, I was happy with the cleanliness of the room. On our check out morning, we needed an early (4am) wake-up call. At 5 past the hour, after no call, we called down to the front desk to check on the breakfast that we ordered and to make sure there would be a taxi waiting for us. I have to say that this is unprofessional and completely unacceptable. On a positive note, the location of the hotel opposite the Grand Bazaar @ the Beyazit stop on the tram could not have been easier. Everything was either a walk or a short tram ride away.
