19th-century Ottoman house overlooking the Blue Mosque
The Hotel Legend Istanbul is a true part of Istanbul’s most historic section. The hotel is housed in a former Ottoman house that was built during the 19th century. Great hotel!
What a great hotel! It was what you expect from a European hotel. The location was amazing, off the beaten path but close to many major sight seeing spots. The service was outstanding, the view from breakfast was amazing and most importantly the room was very clean. When I return to Istanbul I will be staying at this hotel again.

Great Bazaar right down the street with amazing restaurants. Every price is negotiable, do not pay full price for anything when walking into the shops.

Great location, great staff.
3 of us stayed 8 nights and had a very positive experience. Location in the Sultanahmet area is great, all major tourist sites nearby, public transportation convenient. Staff could not have been better.

Near blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia
Generally excellent hotel in a great central location with brilliant views from the dining room and the roof terrace. Unfortunately the roof terrace was undergoing a refit whilst we were there so the planned roof top lounging could not happen, and our room was low down with no balcony so we could't lounge their either. regardless, assuming the roof terrace refit is complete, i would definately recommend this hotel.

Long walk from hotel
Seafood lovers: the place to go is the restuarants below or around the bridge at the mouth of the Golden Horn. But beware of the prices, since most fish are priced by kilo and I had to ask and ask again what exactly i would be paying. Results were generally worth it.

Very good
We had a great time in this hotel. The service was great, the breakfast was fresh and more than enough (refilled continuously), the room was small but the beds were comfortable. The Legend Hotel is situated in the middle of all the highlights of Istanbul. The staff is very willing to help you out with advice and excursions. If you don't expect the Hilton, this is your hotel. You get great value for the price. Warmly recommended.

The staff is EXCELLANT
While the wall paper is peeling around the bottom of the walls, the rooms (I stayed in 2) were always clean and nicely appointed. The location was great - I could walk to all most everything or take the tram to other locations. Only a few blocks from Starbucks, McDonalds, other restaurants and shopping. There is also a small grocery store right across the street. I can't say enough about the excellant staff - especially Hakan, the day desk clerk. The staff speaks English and they were extremely helpful to a single woman traveling alone.

Istanbul rocks.
Not bad, but not memorable
The service was okay, staff were friendly, but lacking that extra touch. For example, breakfast was 7:30-10:30 - we arrived at 10:10 and barely got our coffee when the food was quickly cleaned away. No chance to get breakfast! Staff should have noted us there and offered food before removing it. Rooms were small but clean (what we expected). But smoke definitely filtered in from somewhere else in hotel, and noise from other rooms as well. Beds were comfortable. Similar to other rooms we have stayed in that were less expensive.

Sightseeing tip:
Long walk from hotel
Bring comfortable walking shoes! This is much more important than style. there is so much to see, and within walking distance. Lots of traffic, so driving is not a good idea. But even with summertime crowds walking around is comfortable and fun. Beware of aggressive vendors/tour guides/shoe shiners on the street. Just ignore and walk on by. Or settle on a firm price BEFORE engaging them.

close to all old city sites
This hotel is small, as are the rooms; don't be mislead by the photos on the web site. However rooms spotless, staff friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for all the old city sights, everything within walking distance. We would return with our expectations slightly lowered.
