Great value in the off-season for this clean hotel (no bedbugs, though I have no idea if there are any bedbugs in Izmir anyway) with friendly staff and considerate housekeeping. However, consider that the value stops at the room rate. Everything else is extra, and at what we called "Hilton prices" rather than local pricing. For example (converted to approximate USD) $18 for internet (free at other hotels), $20 for breakfast (a few dollars at any restaurant), $7 for a beer in the lobby ($3 elsewhere). But overall, a pleasant stay.

Friendly helpful service, great gym, large, clean, modern rooms at a good price. English was a bit of a struggle for some of the staff, but then again, I did not speak a word of Turkish! Do not be put off by the medal detectors in the lobby...an unfortunate sign of the times and was there for our protection. Great location near bus stop to airport and bus to Ephesus.

Like other hotels in the Swiss-owned chain, the Moevenpick in Izmir is beautiful, clean and friendly. The food (esp. the ice cream), service, room etc. were all terrific. I highly recommend this hotel and the chain.

Beautiful holiday resort with high class local architecture, lots of woodwork, wonderful garden with artificial takes and waterfall, right on the beach. There is no large main building, all rooms are in 2 story garden villas. Lobby is one of the part of amenities. Note: Some services are with an extra charge.

Hotel was located near train station, metro stops, and short walk to Konak Pier. Staff was very helpful. This was not a "luxury" hotel, but I knew that when I booked.

Basic hotel for a basic price

There is no parking for this hotel. Hotel personnel ask for your car keys and just park your car a bit further on the busy main road, where parking is forbidden. Police is patrolling regularly, so good luck with parking your car.Also, upon arrival the personnel had not received my booking via [...], I had to pay twice for the stay. Luckily they still had rooms available and I was able to pay the lowest rate.Breakfast starts at 0700 a.m. but most of the times they bring in the cooked stuff half an hour later. Every day I had to run after the kitchen personnel in order to get some milk for my cereal. The food itself is OK, just the service is a bit behind.My hotel room was basic and in need of a refurbishment. At night you hear car horns about every five seconds, for the most part of the night. The rooms are also poorly sound-proofed, so TV and conversations from other rooms are easily heard.For the cheap price, it's OK, certainly if you are out the whole day and just need a place to sleep, take a shower and have some breakfast.

The name of the hotel is not martlight.. it is MARLIGHT without the first T. The staff was amazing!!!! The location I didn't like it very much though. And the cleanliness wasn't what I expected.

This is a nice little boutique hotel. it is in a very central location in Izmir, close to the shops, sea front and great bars and restaurants. It is located in a side room but this is what makes it so quiet and is a hidden gem. Ive stayed there 3 times in the past year and ive enjoyed it everytime. the jaccuzzi tub was really good. The front desk can povide you with a laptop and a dvd player for the room if you wish.. Im going back to Izmir in September and im not going to even think about booking with another Hotel.

Teh Kocaman was located in a not very good part of town but the staff assisted with transportation and information how to access the nicer parts of Izmir. The staff I think were the greatest assets of the hotel. It was simply a place to sleep and refresh that was adequate.

We had a nice stay here, & it was easy to book rooms for a group at reasonable prices. At about 60TL/person/night, it was pretty convenient & not that much of a difference in prices from the hostels & pensyons we were looking at. It was also super easy to find because it's so close to the Hilton. The only negative was that even though the staff 'spoke English'...sometimes it was really hard to communicate with them (understand/be understood).

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral in einer kleinen Seitenstraße etwa 7 bis 10 Minuten vom Hafenanleger Passaport entfernt. Natürlich ist Izmir laut und Straßenverkehr ist in den Zimmern leicht zu hören. Die Ausstattung des Hotels ist etwas antik; allerdings muss man bei allem das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis im Blick haben. Bad und Zimmer sind sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist umfangreich. Das Personal zeigt sich stets freundlich. Ich würde das Hotel bei einem weiteren Besuch der Stadt wieder wählen.

I'd rather spend travel money on food than accomodations, especially if I am gone most of the day. Clean, quiet rooms and *excellent* service. Not only was it good value, the place was just good, period.
It's easily within walking distance from the train station (which means it's a bit further from the water front area, about a 15 min walk for us). We were allowed to check-in to our room early. Room was great, with strong & hot water, AC, wi-fi, and free cay.
