Kreshchatyk Guesthouse

The staff at Kreschatyk Guesthouse went above and beyond in their service. When I first arrived, my Ukrainian cell phone no longer worked. Alisa walked me over to the cell phone store, learned that my sim card had expired, and helped me purchase a new card. I was then able to contact my Kiev friends with no problem. Alisa also arranged for a rental car for me, purchased train tickets, and arranged for taxis. Purchasing the train tickets was no simple task. Because of my past travel experiences on Ukrainian trains, I wanted to secure two first class berths so that I could have an entire room to myself. The train station did not have them so Alisa contacted a nearby travel agency who was able to provide them. Then she sent a hotel employee to pick them up and deliver them to me! All that I had to do was pay. The staff at Kreschatyk Guesthouse spoke very little English. Only Alisa, was fluent enough to assist in most matters, but despite the language barrier they were able to handle all of my concerns quickly, efficiently and professionally. The Guesthouse is in the PERFECT location in Kiev. It is right smack dab in the middle of everything. From there you can walk to almost anything you would like to see, or jump on the metro to go to more remote locations. All of the nearby restaurants have staff that speak English, and there are also several locations to enjoy nightlife. There is a 24 hour karaoke bar less than two blocks away. The best part of the guesthouse was the price. Amenities included in room tea, a stove, microwave, dishes, ironing board and iron, and the satellite television even had a few English speaking channels. This was my second stay at the guesthouse, and I don't know if I was just lucky, or they gave me preferential treatment as a return guest, but during this stay they upgraded me to a HUGE two bedroom suite for the same price I had previously paid for a one bedroom. I highly recommend Kreschatyk Guesthouse to anyone going to Kiev, but remember that it is the Ukraine. Amenities there were great compared to most other places in Kiev, but don't expect the same room comfort that you would find in American hotels of the same price range.

There was no reception, just an "adminstrator". The person was kind and did not speak English well. However the room was clean,good location and comfortable. I will book again. Thanks

I loved it!!! At first, I was thinking about getting my money back but, sometimes it is best to just go w/ the flow. After I got to know some of the locals. It was perfect. I will be back and I will use your company again. Keep up the good work. Thank You. Gregory "Dan" Roden

Bare minimum of everything. The only plus is the location.

Absolutely perfect location in the hearth of the city. Our apartment was luckily on the silent side of the building i.e. no traffic noise at all even though the location is at the most traffic point of Kiev. Big rooms, two terraces, jacuzzi, full equipped kitchen, everything was OK. Very helpful english spoken nice lady helped us to room and gave all instructions how to contact in case of need for something. As this is a guesthouse no breakfast or so. Supermarket "Billa" is only a block away, everthing available and needless to say the prices. In the roomy kitchen one can create a nice breakfast by own. Lunches and dinning out wherever next door. Shopping all by Kreschatyk, don't miss Maidan Square's Globus shopping mall and all the nice places at the metro stations.

Good rooms. Clean. With the balcony to Kreschatik somewhat noisy. Ask for the opposite side to be able to open windows and wake up to birds singing. Perfect location near farmers market (expensive, but everything top quality) and it is the center of Kiev. Theaters/restaurants/bars/stores in 5-10 minutes walking distance. Rooms are clean. Ask for luxury appts (only $20 more a night) if you want expensive furniture in your apartment and conditioner in every room (useful for hot summer nights). If you do not care, they all are clean, have fully stuffed kitchen, they clean and change linens every day. The only difference from regular hotel is absence of a bar on the first floor. I went for a long business trip, so for me comfortable appt was better then hotel room.

the hotel was located in the center of town and there was alot of fun and entertainment right outside of the hotel so i didn't have to go anywhere else.

A great Central location (above M&S). Kitchen facilities fine and good space in bedrooms. Good WiFi - if you don't need other facilities and want a central location - this is the place to stay.

I was meeting my online friend for the first time and she had requested seperate rooms. Unfortunately they were seperate buildings about two blocks apart. We spoke to the manager(s) and they went out of their way to find us an apartment with 2 bedrooms. These are clean and neat and spacious rooms with full amenities. No need to eat out every night of your stay. A little hard to find but well worth the hunt.

This is not really a hotel but some apartments for rent, and that makes a big difference. If you are expecting free breakfast, room service, or things like that, you won't find it here, but on the other hand, you have many more advantages. The apartments are really nice and comfortable, you have free WiFi in the room and nice cable TV, a complete kitchen (with free tea) and a washing machine. I think it is great if you plan to stay many days, and it is also located in a great place near the center, with many banks near, and in a commercial corridor if you like shopping. Next time I'm in Kiev I will definitely return to this place
