Beautiful hotel, some staff issues

The beach pool grounds are wonderful, and the beach staff are very friendly. In terms of amenities, everything in the room and the hotel is top notch. The restaurants are all great, as well. There are only three major drawbacks for this hotel: (1) The management staff is not terribly friendly, which is somewhat unusual for a hotel in the UAE. (2) the sheer size of the hotel means that you may frequently get lost, and its size also makes it difficult to create an ambiance in a hotel that is essentially the size of a shopping mall. (3) We had great difficulty getting into the nigh club in the hotel. Guests should NOT have any difficulty getting into the nightclub of the hotel they are staying at.

Fun, upscale, luxury getaway!!

The hotel is amazing. Having your own personal butler 24/7 is a cool thing. The club was loads of fun and so was the friendly staff. Would defiantly recommend.

Amazing Hotel - but breakfast is not accaptable

I make it short. The hotel, poo,l people almost everything is beautiful and amazing. Restaurants especially the mezzaluna (italian restaurant) is the best I know until now - and I saw already many many restaurants on the world. But: Dont go for breakfast. It doesnt makes sense. For such a hotel it is not acceptable. You ask yourself why you are there and it destroys the overall amazing felling.

Einfach nur ein Horrortrip!

First of all it began with a small little asian waitress. She didnt want to serve me at the caviar bar because my pants (over knee long shorts) were to short and she cant serve me... In this shorts i can go to any mosque and pray there. Second: her manager or what ever he was, more or less told me to go to my room and change my cloths. I think i dont really have to tell you, what i was thinking at the moment. But, i left the caviar bar and went to my room. I was already looking for a different hotel to spend the night, cos i am not used to be treated like that. And than i was reading your "welcome letter" i got at the check it. There was the first time i heard about your "Dress codes" and was bothered how you dare to tell people what to wear since you are that much into the arab-islamic tradition... I wouldnt mind, if you would follow through with it. That also would mean that some fridges with glass doors and some variety of champagnes have to go. Dont play the arabic-islamic tradtion game, when you offer Alcohol in public.!!! The next incident was around midnight, when we returned from having dinner in abu dhabi. It is ok to be asked entrance if i am a guest or not. BUT to be scanned from head to toe by one of your car-door-openers "Are YOU staying in this hotel" in a tone that was very offending and disrespectful. My answer was a sharp, short "yes, if he mind?! Confused as we have been my employee called the operater to find out how long the gym, pool and spa is open and what to wear to go there without having one little asian telling him what to wear.I assume the answers he got were informative cos he used the pool the next day. The german speaking person he had on the phone was a nice lady, so far. I told him to have someone sending a second ashtrey to the room. After 45 minutes the was no other ashtrey. so i called the reception again. I ended up with being forwarded to the IT department... why? i dont know. There i was asked "Do you have a problem with the internet?" My answer was: "No, i just want another ashtrey!". Her reply: "ok, i will send someone to your room". After 15 minutes a person with his laptop was standing infront of my door asking me; "What problem do you have with the internet!" I guess you can understand that i was close to explode. My worker knows me very well and took over the problem cos i was close to become loud. So i sent him away, cos there was no internet problem. I just wanted an ashtrey... I called the concierge again and asked for an ashtrey. This time, about 20 minutes later again! 2 men have been at the door bringing us 3 ashtreys.... I am not sure, why there have been 2 men with 3 ashtreys, but finally after almost 2 hours waiting, 3 phone calls, and one IT specialist (if he is one) i had the ashtrey. For me it was time to leave this place and go somewhere else. I get a better service in Dubai in any no-star apartment complex with less drama and less unqualified people. The feedback on the websides i booked the room will be very negative and i also have told my booking agency to take care of this problem. I want a refound, a full refound!
