Elevated to emphasise its splendour, Al Qasr, which literally translates to "The Palace", comprises 292 exquisite rooms and suites, designed to reflect a Sheikh's summer residence. Approached via a ceremonial causeway, this majestic palace-style hotel rises up to form the jewel in the crown of the world's most sublime resort and authentic re-creation of "old Arabia". Surrounded by water, Al Qasr forms a virtual island looking down upon a multitude of fascinating aspects: ancient wind towers, pools, meandering waterways and the superb private beach.

Guest rooms at Al Qasr are a minimum of 55m' and are furnished in sumptuous Arabian styles, befitting the palatial themes, featuring a king sized bed, luxury bathroom and a balcony complete with table and chairs and beautiful views of the meandering waterways and wind towers, or the azure Arabian Gulf.

The resort has one of the largest swimming pools in the Gulf, closely monitored by lifeguards throughout the day; guests visiting the pool can expect fresh cucumber slices to cool their eyes and fruit kebabs, lollies and cool drinks on the house.

In the evenings you have a choice of around 40 restaurants, cafes and bars within the resort itself. Those located at Al Qasr itself include the tent on the beach Khaymat Al Bahar, all day international buffet restaurant Arboretum, Zeng He's modern Chinese restaurant, Al Hambra Spanish restaurant, Thai restaurant Pai Thai, MJ's steakhouse, and Pierchic seafood restaurant which is located at the end of a 100m pier, giving diners a spectacular view of the Burj Al Arab. Within the hotel there are also several lounges with fabulous views of the ocean.

Al Qasr forms part of the Madinat Jumeirah resort along with Mina A' Salam hotel and Dar Al Masyaf summer houses. All three components share the luxurious Talise Spa, The Quay Health Club, Sinbad's Kid's Club, private beach facilities and magnificent views of the Burj Al Arab and the Arabian Gulf. Go for the Ocean View

Stayed at this hotel after the Grosvenor house. This is a MUCH better hotel, though both are rated at 5 stars. The Ocean view room offers stunning views of the property as well as the Burj al Arab. Easy beach access, and tons of things to keep you entertained. The best place to be in Dubai. Works for Families or couples. One drawback: they couldn't find my reservation as it hadn't been added to the system yet. Took a full 20 minutes to check in. Compared to other hotels, well worth the wait and price.
