The four star luxury hotel, The Caledonian, is located right in the city center , near Aberdeen Rail Station and Union Terrace Gardens. Immediately near St Nicholas Academy and Robert Gordon University, The Caledonian Hotel is an ideal venue for business meetings or special events. An elegant Victorian hotel overlooking Union Terrace Gardens in central Aberdeen The Caledonian Hotel has always had a special place in Aberdeen's affections. Located right in the center of Aberdeen, close to the railway station, and handy for the airport and heliport, it's is an ideal venue for business meetings or enjoying a city break. Aberdeen owes much of its character - and its nickname The Granite City - to the Victorians and their fondness for the local stone as a building material. The Caledonian Hotel dates from this period and we've carefully preserved its high ceilings and other original features. Everything else, though, is bang up to date.

Outsourced to another hotel at the airport

Arrived late in the city centre only to be told they were full and they have a room for me at one of their other hotels, at the airport! I won't be booking with this online agent or this hotel in the future.

Great location

The best of the hotel is the location. In the heart of the city. You`v got everything in 10 min walk. You`v got central train and bus station within 3 min. walk and there is a shuttle bus to and from the airport every 30 min. It is not 4 -star hotel though. At least for my understanding. There are no gym place, swimming pool, not even free wi - fi, which is definitely draw back. So, it is a 3 -star very nice hotel. My room was too small (not that anyone is going to need more space) but for the money it was alright I presume. The bathroom was good. With a bathtub and shower altogether and a special warm rack for the towels. And of course, their separated hot and cold sink lines. You can`t use them together - is`n it nonsense? There was a plasma TV with a basic channels. No A/C but you never going to need it, because the summer is cool and there is a central heating for the winters, which you can adjust. There is a bar/restaurant in the lobby but I did not get there cause I preferred to eat outside.
