Small room, old building - perfect location, great value
You cannot beat the location of this hotel. It's a few minutes walks to the New Street and Moor Street Train Stations and to many other cites in the Birmingham City Centre. My room was tiny (i have never styed in such a small room) but clean. The staff were helpful. This place was perfect for me as I am not one who spends much time in the hotel while on holiday. For me the value was exceptional.

Britannia Birmingham
I have stayed there multiple times. I find it an excellent value with many more positives than negatives. The location is excellent- near the New Street Station and all the shopping. The shower is also excellent- plenty of hot water and strong water flow. Their towels are also good (not thin). The room is clean. It is quiet (try not to face New Street). Their bar area is very comfortable and a good place to relax. The staff is very helpful. The negatives are that the the rooms are a bit shabby and rundown and they are small (common throughout the UK) compared to the US.. Not a problem for a single business traveler.

weekend break
Have stayed here twice now and on both stays found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Especially on reception and supprisingly the cleaning staff. One thing I do like about this hotel is the location, especially being so close to the main station as rely on public transport

Value for Money
Very clean, great value for money and good location. Only down side is that the decor looks a bit tired. Other than that, just what I needed in the location I needed it.

Very good value
This hotel is a little worn, a little ragged around the edges, but the staff are friendly and it is in a terrific location. The room was comfortably sized compared to most hotel rooms in GB, and clean. For the price I think one can put up with older carpet and facilities. The staff was very good, very helpful. The price was fantastic for a dowtown hotel, very close to the train, right on New Street and the shopping district.

Perfect location for shopping
- Located in the heart of the town centre very close to the shopping centres (Bullring and Pavilion) and New Street Station. 5min walk to the Arcadian and China town. 10min brisk walk to The Mailbox. 15min walk to Broad Street. - Decent hot and cold buffet breakfast (help yourself to a range of cereals, fruit, white and brown toast, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, hashbrowns, bacon, sausages, tea, coffee and fruit juice) - Hotel looks quite dated and it is basic. However it is clean and everything worked. - Comfortable bed and ensuite - Some street noise could be heard from the room A good place to stay particularly if you are on a budget, going on a shopping spree, going clubbing and travelling to Bham by train.

The Regular Shopper
Ideal central location
I have used this hotel for last five years when in Birmingham for Christmas shopping or a show, due to the perfect location. Nothing much has changed in that time regards facilities, staff are always friendly even if not knowledgable about the products served. Lounge/bar area needs some refurbishment, it is not a cosy place to sit and was very cold; as was the restaurant. With minus four degrees outside you needed to at least feel warm when you were in the hotel.

Only good point is the location
Not a good experience. Unfriendly staff who were not willingly to accommodate. It was a take it or leave it attitude! Room was fairly big, but uncomfortable beds and unclean floor. Definately will not wish to stay there again.
