Excellent deal

Very comfortable clean room, friendly helpful staff. The room had its own individual heat/aircon. Now the negatives: Bathmat - the rubber kind that stops you slipping in the shower - large tear in it, didn't go so well with the luxury feel of the hotel and room Drinks vending machine - rejected every coin we tried to put in, necessitating a trip to reception where we were able to purchase 500ml coke for £2, instead of the £1 330ml coke we wanted from the machine Breakfast was nothing special - standard big hotel buffet of hard yolked fried eggs, soggy scrambled egg, bacon with lots of fat and none of it crispy as I like it :( the toaster was a good idea - like a grill that moves the slice of bread through and spits it out at the bottom - unfortunately the toast being closer to the element in one side was beautifully toasted on the side closest but soft and underdone on the other side - and I'm one of those who prefers her toast golden rather than black, so not even complaining that my toast was under-cremated! Sauces (ketchup and brown sauce) were available from a bowl at the end of the buffet when they weren't being refilled - and the ketchup was sadly a cheap high vinegar content sauce rather than a nice tomato flavoured one :( Lastly, drinks with breakfast - I like tea - I got a large pot with 1 tea bag - no chance of it ever getting strong enough to be a proper cup of tea! The other choices for drinks were coffee, or fruit juice (orange, apple or tropical) my partner doesn't like hot drinks or fruit juice so had to pay £3 for a glass of coke - daylight robbery! And my glass of apple juice was barely apple flavoured as it had been watered down so much - very disappointing!!!

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

The hotel is located near the entrance of the theme park according to the hotel website, however, you have to enter in the same place off the main road that you would for the theme park and then bear left as instructed by the signs instead of following the track to the main entrance of the theme park - the impression we got was that its a separate entrance off the road :/

Superb family break

This hotel is right on the doorstep of Drayton Manor. We had a fantastic day in the park itself and we couldn't have asked for a better end to our day. The staff are very friendly and great with kids, the breakfast and dinner was great and the bar a haven. After checking out we headed into Birmingham to do some shopping as the hotel is only half an hour from the city. A great weekend and we will definitely be back.
