Hilton Leisure Break
First impressions of the hotel are fantastic, large open plan entrance with marble everywhere. However, when we entered our room the toilet seat in the bathroom was covered in urine, rather than complain my wife just proceeded to clean it up. Prices are close to extortionate £27.00 for a bottle of house rose, £4.30 for a lager shandy and £2.00 for a small glass of ice (with coke in it) as it was watered down. To cap it all they then charge a 10% service charge fee for serving you the drinks in the restaurant. Food was buffet style and tasted like it had been out for hours, however the turkey was very fresh and plenty of it. My wife was visiting the NEC, so you could not get any closer to the exhibition centre so location was fantastic. No amenities for children other than the pool, no TV Channels for children, so I took my grandson out for the day. We stay away often in much lesser quality hotels (Village and Novotel) but these all cater well for children. Hilton should learn that not everyone is on a business trip using there hotels.

Weekend Break
Lovely hotel when you arrive, but parking is a nightmare, you can drive around for 20 minutes looking for somewhere to park as this hotel is huge. Pricey for drinks, 2 large glasses of house rose wines cost me £18.00 at the bar and a very weak coke was £2.00. Restaurant prices too expensive, but we did eat on the second night in the restaurant as it was buffet style and I like the idea. However, the food did not taste fresh at all and we waited some 30 minutes for a Pizza and chips ordered for my nephew. We were happy with the staff and the way in which they spoke to us everyone was extremely friendly. Other than the swimming pool the hotel has no facilities for young children and not even a child's movie was available to purchase on the "in room entertainment package". I complained about a leak of water under my basin unit on the Saturday afternoon as the bathroom was "Flooded" and I had not used the shower to cause it. I think the leak was from behind the toilet, so not very hygienic. When I checked out on the Sunday at 12.00 noon the leak was still there and no one had been up to my room to look at it. Overall, considering the price paid for the hotel and the high prices whilst we were there it was certainly not value for money and highly overpriced.

Very nice hotel
I only stayed here for a night but it was very convenient to the airport. It's a nice short walk through the NEC (I wanted to walk after sitting on a place for hours! But they also have a shuttle). I had a small problem at check-in with the staff person not seeming to know for sure if I needed to leave a credit card swipe. She said I could pay for things as I went along but then when I ordered room service they said it had to be charged to the room. It all worked out fine but they need to get that straightened out. But - my room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was quiet as well. A very nice hotel.

Good, clean hotel. Ideally situated for Birmingham International airport but far enough from any noise.

Great location for a large function
Great location for a large function with no problems with competing functions at the same venue. The hotel is large enough to accommodate many functions at once. Very well laid out and very clean.

Average
We stayed here for the location. We understood it was close the the NEC hall and we were from the US and didn't want to have to deal with renting a car (and driving on the wrong side of the road and all) or pay for taxis every day while we were there. It is not connected to the hall and a good 10+ minute walk to the NEC from the back of the hotel. Since it was very cold and a good walk from the hotel, we ended up taking a taxi on most of the days anyhow. Hotel was average, but not worth the price we paid. The rooms were small (but not uncommon in Europe) and they put us in a room with two single beds...a little odd for a married couple, but we didn't want to make an issue of it. Ended up with an extra "full English breakfast charge" on our bill, but they did remove it after a bit of confusion about it. Overall....average experience--not great, not terrible.

Short drive from hotel
We did find out that there are excellent "balti" Indian restarants in the area. One we tried and loved was called TITASH--a 10 short taxi ride (and 10 lbs) away. If you go tell them your USA friends who tried Indian food for the first time sent you (via online recommendations)! This was our first Indian restaurant experience and we soooo enjoyed the "balti" flair. YUMMY!

Avoid this hotel - terrible service
Stayed here for one night - and moved to Crowne Plaza following night. Have stayed at this hotel before, and room was great, in new part of the hotel. [...] Took more than 20 minutes to park car, as parking was completely full. On arrival at hotel, reception staff were rude and unhelpful. Took me more than 15 minutes to find room, which was right at other end of hotel. They had numerous functions on when I arrived, which I had to walk through to get to hotel. Room was tiny, and all furnishings tired and old. On check-out, there were long queues, with everyone complaining about their bills which had wrong amounts on. Mine included a £50 charge from bar - I didn't even go there. When I went to ask for it to be removed staff appeared not to know what they were doing - and made me wait at the desk until they had found who the charge belonged to - after 5 minutes, I asked them to give me my revised bill with wrong charges, and they refused, until they'd tracked down who the bill belonged to - a joke. 10 minutes later I left hotel, and will never return.

Nice hotel and quiet, however
Nice hotel and quiet, however on my arrival after 9pm I found the window in the room open and heating switched off, very cold. No mini bar, would have been a good option. But overall the single room on the small side but very good value for money at only at €51 including breakfast.
