Excellent business hotel
Nice recent refurbishment, responsive staff, quiet room, all I could have asked for except...I paid for the broadband "special" to be able to use in-room internet and have unlimited movies, but the the movies never worked, and the staff were helpless in trying to address the problem during my entire stay. Really surprised that the hotel would be unable to come up with a fix but I must say the staff were very apologetic.

Problem with booking - staff unhelpful
Staff couldn't find booking, made no effort to contact travel agent, was my problem. Travel agent provided a different refrence number, not on their confirmation and this worked. On Check out staff tried to charge me for breakfast which was included in rate already. Made me wait around and then told was 'ok' didn't have to pay twice. No apology.

The hotel was being refurbished
The hotel was being refurbished on the ground floor when we were there. The room was excellent, very good bed. We had wired internet, but it was too slow for proper video chat, that was disappointing. The restaurant/bar was nice. The location was on Broad St, which is a bit dodgy, but you can walk to the canals and city centre easily, and it's close to the train station. All the staff were friendly and helpful - one of them even brought me up some breakfast when I slept in and missed it (my colleague made it)!

All great except lukewarm shower
The hotel was clean, the front desk and restaurant staff were courteous, efficient and helpful, and the breakfast was great. The Novotel was in a great location for walking to restaurants and bars in Brindley Place and Broad Street. I was worried that it's city centre location would be noisy but we slept peacefully with no disturbance - from the street or from the hotel. The only negative was that the shower temperature was blocked from going above a frustrating lukewarm - not pleasant.

The bars at both Bank and Pushkar restaurant are a short walk from the hotel and great for after-dinner drinks, if not dinner.

Clean hotel, located on Broad
Clean hotel, located on Broad Street, city centre, close to Bars and restaurants so it can be a bit noisy with party goers and traffic. My room was on the 4th floor, which was not as noisy, but be aware they are smoking rooms on that floor. Breakfast was excellant, choice of hot buffett or continental, served until 12pm weekends...ideal for hangover cures!!! Staff were pleasant, polite and efficient. I recommend this hotel if you are planning to stay in the city centre and i would stay there again in the near future.

Very comfortable bed and room
Very comfortable bed and room however the bathroom facilities are not aesthetically pleasing and reflect badly on the standard of the hotel. Fantastic breakfast, value for money
