Business trip
The staff were very friendly and informative on reception. One mature waitress was doing all the work in the dining room, while a mature male manager stood around the front of the restaurant doing very little. Even though the restaurant was quiet food was slow to be served, the food was very enjoyable. Bar drinks more expensive than restaurant prices for some reason?

Great hotel...but avoid the bar!
Good: Fantastic breakfast (best I've experienced in a hotel)...Large Bed...Fantastic Sea View...Clean room...Efficient reception staff...Good gym & pool. Bad: Hotel bar is a rip-off (£8 for a glass of wine!) & bar service not too hot either...Bathrooms could do with a spruce up...Resent paying £2.50 a night for the car park (It'd be no problem for the Hilton to include it in the booking). Would definitely stay again just wouldn't frequent the hotel bar!

when we reached the lobby, everything
when we reached the lobby, everything was fine, big hotel, nice lobby, friendly staff, just as what we expected, cos its "Hilton". But the room and the bathroom were so dated and disappointing. The kettle was horrible, it was half filled with water and seems like something left over in it n getting mouldy, some of those unknown stuff sticking all around and some were floating, disgusting!! tho they changed another 1 for us but we still found that its so worn and have particles when filled up. The "cupboard" for storing coffee making was half broken. Bed was hard but pillows were comfy, luckily. Don't be fooled by the name of "hilton, I would prefer somewhere else for that kind of price, there are many other choices along the promenade.

Shabby and unclean - not recommended
The hotel rooms are a good size and have all the facilities you would expect but the whole hotel desperately needs renovation. The wallpaper in the bedroom was torn in places and walls quite dirty. The whole place had a musty smell. The corridors being particularly bad. On our first occasion dining in the hotel the service was terrible. I questioned the fish brought for our young child and the server didn't come back until the meal had finished. We asked for well done steak and got medium (the least of our worries but not a good start). The attitude of the hotel can be summed up by the menu for the evening being covered in grease stains and stapled into a glass cabinet - what would it have taken to photocopy or print a clean version?! At breakfast on our first morning I discovered chewing gum under the table (I wasn't particularly looking for it) and on the same day I watched a member of hotel staff spitting in the car park! Overall dreadful and not recommended.

Good for the price
The location of the hotel wasn't bad but also wasn't all that great. The major attractions were still a few miles south but the view of the ocean wasn't too bad. The walls were incredibly thin. Neighbors played loud music till midnight and after hotel staff quieted them down for me, they persisted. The hotel staff as courteous as they were couldn't have helped anyway given the thin walls. You could hear everything from talking to TV to peeing. Not fun trying to sleep or for privacy.

Short drive from hotel
AJ's Bistro had some good food. It was nice to eat in a nice quiet restaurant and get away from the fast food offerings all around.
