Welcome to Best Western, The Connaught Hotel, the AA's Highest Rated, Double Rosette, 3 Star (85%) spa hotel in Bournemouth with complimentary parking for up to 66 cars. Formerly a gentleman's residence, the hotel was constructed around 1850 and is centrally located on the West Cliff and just 500m to the BIC, the town centre, Pavilion, Bournemouth Pier and 7 miles of golden, sandy beaches.
The hotel offers an excellent range of accommodation with a variety of en-suite bedrooms to suit all tastes - standard doubles and twins, superior bedrooms, executive bedrooms and the highly recommended Orchid and Rose Suites. the staff made us really welcome, food was yummy and value for money, a brilliant hotel for all ages.
plus only 5 mins walk from seafront, we would definately stop there again if we go to that part of the country

Die Lage des Hotels ist super, alles ist leicht zu Fuß zu erreichen.
Das Zimmer war offensichtlich erst kürzlich renoviert worden, das Badezimmer ist sehr klein und eng, selbst schlanke Menschen haben dabei Schwierigkeiten, sonst ist alles 'very british', aber ok. Das full english breakfast ist sehr gut, der Service dabei auch.
Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut.

All of the 181 bedrooms have been decorated to a high standard with a contemporary feel to them. They are all en-suite and have TV, Telephone, Trouser Press, Hairdryer and Tea and Coffee making facilities. The two conference rooms that are available at the hotel are suited for any occasion whether it is business or pleasure and hold up to 100 people. In addition there is a Health and Leisure club, ideal for relaxing. The Lounge and bar is perfect for those lighter snacks or if you fancy a hot chocolate or coffee. Hotel is in a very good location and is a short walk to the beach and high street. The hotel needs lick of paint as the decor is very dated and there were damp marks on the wall in the room which i stayed. The lifts were small and could only fit 2 adults in which made it difficult to fit a child and buggy and also there was only 2 high chairs avaliable in the restaurant.

The main bar lounge area was extremely dated and far too bright with little atmostphere.The bar had run out of most draught beer and shut early with customers still in there. Compared to the more modern dining room it was poor and did not encourage you to spend time there. At breakfast it was apparent with so many old folk staying there that tea and coffee should be brought to the table in pots as the current system created confusion and had to be got a cup at a time. This was also very wasteful as a new teabag was used each visit. The bedroom was also very dated and although clean there was a lingering smell and a damp patch on the wall which stayed during the stay. It is a shame that a hotel in such a good location with such potential to please did not.

The place is very dated, dirty and has brown water coming out of the hot tap! The room was not hoovered and the mirror had lipstick marks on it. The bathroom light was not working and the tv nearly fell off the wall!

For some reason the decking area

For some reason the decking area of this hotel could be a lovely feature in the evenings if only they put out more outside heaters with a bit more heat in them.Lights also needed outside as you have many older or even wheelchair bound guests coming out health & safety surely can ensure there is adequate lighting outside for smokers and others who just want to enjoy sitting in the decking area or near to the pool.Had to always get up myself and pay and collect my drink. Most hotels i stay in waiters and waitresses chk on hotel residents saving you from getting up each time yourself! Staff very nice and professional most of them.Food prices high as you expect from a hotel

Was given a room with no heating

Was given a room with no heating -- and this in winter. However, an electric fan heater was very quickly produced for me. On a previous stay at this hotel (in summer) the room was so hot that it was almost unbearable. This is because the single rooms adjacent to the lift have hot water pies passing under the floor. Avoid these rooms at all costs!! Otherwise, most rooms are quite good, as is the service.

When we arrived the hotel did not have our booking - not their fault - and did manage to find us a room but the facilities were a little 'tired' and needed refurbishment. Whilst the staff did sort our booking dilemma they were reluctant to do so and needed to be a bit more cheerful. A smile goes a long way.

We booked this hotel through rates to go for a one night stay in bournemouth as we were out for the evening for a 40th birthday.
when we got there we paid for our room and was told our room number which was easy to find.
We were very surprised at the room that was given to us we had a family room with a double bedroom and another room off of this with a dining table and sofa and a bed in.
we were surprised to be given a masive bathroom which had a jacuzzi bath which was amazing. this was more like a mini flat of our own.
I could not fault this hotel it is very central to everything and the staff are always happy to help.

This is one of three neighbouring hotels who all use each other's facilities. Make sure you know which one you're being put into. A good 15 min walk to the beach and it's quite out of town.

the hotel was a good location, very friendly helpful staff, sunday carvery reasoable price and very good,we had a good time entertainment, just would have been better if parking was easier but all sea side hotels are uaually the same GREAT BREAK

The hotel décor follows a contemporary town house theme with traditional touches to complement the original elegant Victorian building.The hotel has five meeting rooms and have been renamed after personalities involved in the building's historic past, including the Kennedy Suite, named after Fred Kennedy, the First and only baby to be born at the former Durley Dean Hydro. Architects from the practice Hawker and Mitchell, who designed an extension to the original building, also have rooms named after them.

Ingledene House is a small family run B and B that overlooks Knyveton Gardens Bowling greens and the adjoining Tennis Courts. Also located opposite the guest house is a Cafe and private licensed bar that is open to Ingledene residents. Ingledene Guest House is conveniently situated 2 minutes walk from Bournemouth Central Station, 500 metres from the nearest beach and about a 10 minute walk to the centre and nightlife. Guest House facilities include 12 En-suite Bedrooms . Nightly Room-only Rates start from £25/person/night. All en-suite prices quoted include Continental Breakfast.
