On arrival allocated 2 rooms in

On arrival allocated 2 rooms in the kitchen area ground floor, absolutely appalling, should never be offered to guests. When rooms refused, staff agreed with our views. Offered 2 small rooms on 4th floor, very slightly better quality. Worst hotel experience we have had when using Hotel Club. Very surprised this Hotel was a ( website)recommended'. Restaurant and Breakfast good.

The orginal price is far too overpriced

The orginal price is far too overpriced and comments on check-in was that they have never let the room at the price. I was seriously embrassed to take colleagues to this Hotel as I was not even convinced that the £60 paid was reasonable for the condition of the room.

Whilst this is an old hotel, the facilities show a little for the age but the hotel is a good, inexpensive, option if you are staying in Bournemouth. I found the room to be clean and the room facilities to be above average for the price. If you have a car expect to park on the street as on site parking is sparse though the cost to park on the surrounding streets is three punned per day. A good place to stay and the breakfast was acceptable as well. Recommended.

We were bumped from Britannina

We were bumped from Britannina to their sister hotel over the road - Heathlands. Initially tried to charge us twice. Room smelt of lemon air freshner which must have been used to hide the fact it really had not been cleaned to any standard. Bathroom was in dire need of bleach to rid it of mould and shower was little more then a trickle, after waiting 20 mins for hot water to come through the taps. Can't drink the water from the bathroom and no bottled water in the room so if you do end up staying here don't forget your own. Breakfast was little better - check that the milk is not on the turn as it was for us. Cheap - but you get what you pay for.

Hotel is in a very good location

Hotel is in a very good location and is a short walk to the beach and high street. The hotel needs lick of paint as the decor is very dated and there were damp marks on the wall in the room which i stayed. The lifts were small and could only fit 2 adults in which made it difficult to fit a child and buggy and also there was only 2 high chairs avaliable in the restaurant.

We were very disappointed with

We were very disappointed with this hotel and would not stay here again. On the positive side, the location was great, only 5 mins walk to town centre and sea front. Breakfast was also good as was the service from the breakfast staff. Aside from that, the hotel was poor. Reception were unhelpful & tried to charge us twice. The 1st room we had had stained bed sheets and the toilet did not flush. The 2nd room we had did have a lovely sea view however the bed sheets were ripped & stained. In fact we had to make our own bed as housekeeping had gone home. The toilet did flush but the handle was hanging off. Overall not a great stay.

The main bar lounge area was extremely

The main bar lounge area was extremely dated and far too bright with little atmostphere. The bar had run out of most draught beer and shut early with customers still in there. Compared to the more modern dining room it was poor and did not encourage you to spend time there. At breakfast it was apparent with so many old folk staying there that tea and coffee should be brought to the table in pots as the current system created confusion and had to be got a cup at a time. This was also very wasteful as a new teabag was used each visit. The bedroom was also very dated and although clean there was a lingering smell and a damp patch on the wall which stayed during the stay. It is a shame that a hotel in such a good location with such potential to please did not.

I rented a single room, it was

I rented a single room, it was clean, the ensuite bathroom was almost bigger than the room and looked brand-new. I could logon for free to the internet from my room via the wifi network of the hotel. The breakfast was ok as well. I was worth the 35pounds per night. The TV though was really old and small but I did not care. Concerning the location it was a five minute walk from the city center and 2 minute walk from the east cliff where you can see the beach and the channel, isle of wight etc... The room was very good value for the price.
