Great location

Given room in basement, described as double but could only get into bed from one side-and that was tight! Tired furniture, so complained and we were given a room on the top floor with a sea view which was fine, although didn't quite match "elegant luxury" as described in the brochure. Breakfast was reasonable and dinner, which we didn't have, looked good value. Fantastic location though, but mainly the sort of hotel used by coach parties of pensioners who all seemed perfectly happy.

Disappointing Hotel

I visited Brighton for a friend's wedding. The Hotel was nicely located near the beach and the hotel room's windows opened out to a large deck with a great view. In my opinion, the hotel overall was not clean and the furniture was old and beaten up. The toilet in my hotel room would never flush either.

The hotel is old (hence Royal), but near the pier so it was pretty handy getting about the Laines and the palace. There was mould in the bathroom though. Otherwise a pretty nice place, just opposite the gay clubs as well.

Excellent location, but a shadow

Excellent location, but a shadow of its obvious former glory. Busy, under-staffed reception area. No clear communication about breakfast or checking out times. No one answered when telephoning the reception desk from the room. The hotel just needs a bit of modernisation, or just more care and attention. The room was basic and 'tired'. I would consider staying there again, but only based on the cheap rate and not because of the facilities or service.

fantastic hotel, great location

Great full breakfast buffet from 7am to 10am. Conveniently located next to Coach Station (we arrived on a coach from Heathrow). Within a few blocks of numerous interesting restaurants and pubs. Comfortable bar and lounge looking out to sea. Expensive on Saturday night, very reasonable other nights. Large rooms.

Confortable and very well located.

Confortable and very well located. We had a room to the sea front and it was great. But I am not so sure about other rooms. Breakfast is basic and not very good, wifi works not very well, one day the room was not done, but people is friendly and location is fantastic for everything in Brighton. Price was good from HotelClub, I think it was not so good booking directly.
