noise at weekend nights

It was perfect until Friday night, when the large noise started and went on after midnight. The same thing happened Saturday night. We couldn't really sleep. Apparently the noise was coming from a bar on the ground floor of the same building or bars nearby. I couldn't tell which.

Good but let down by some things

We selected this hotel for a winter break. The rooms were very large with plenty of wardrobe space and great sea views. House keeping didn't take place until late afternoon though. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was buffet style and good but we had to remind them that we were still waiting for a special order after the rest of us had finished. The Bistro was 'ordinary' but there are plenty of other places to eat. The down side was very late night noise when the club turned out after 3 am.

Plenty of places to eat nearby. Tapas bar 25 yards was very welcoming. Book in advance at weekend.

Wonderful Hotel

From the Manager Riccardo being so helpful with checking in and giving us a sea view room, my sister and I found the hotel delightful and fully recommend anyone to stay. When we next return to Brighton we will definitely stay again at this hotel.

AVOID (as a former Hotel Inspector) do not stay here

AVOID THIS HOTEL (Room 201 needs shut down) Staff are rude, incompetent, self righteous. Room filthy, noisy, cold. Not cheap enough for what I got and now asking for a full refund. The hotel has a rack rate of over £200 but is neither worth this or is a 3 star hotel. As someone who has worked in the hospitality industry for 15 years I would tell everyone to AVOID this hotel. * The room was very noisy (even although I asked for a quiet room). I was kept awake till 5am on both nights, (even as middle of week) * The room was dirty and smelly. The bedclothes smelled of old urine and dirty washing machines/dryers. The area underneath the mirror in the bathroom was grotty and mouldy. * Several fixtures and fitting were broken, chipped, stained. * No heating that worked in the room at all. No independent thermostat. Rationing heat in 2012 is disgusting! * Bed hard and uncomfortable * Steam room broken again (last 5 years) * I asked and complained about all of the above but was igonred several times. No-one wanted to know and when i went down to reception the third time, they called security to escort me out. I was in tears.
