The Copthorne Hotel Cardiff is situated just 4 miles from Cardiff City centre and 6 miles from Cardiff International Airport. This fantastic location means that access to some of Wales's best attractions is easy, such as Millennium Stadium, Cardiff Bay, The Welsh Folk Museum and Cardiff international Arena. The Hotel has 135 well appointed and traditional rooms and suites with some fantastic views of our very own idyllic lake and grounds. Boasting with 10 well equipped meeting rooms, all with air-conditioning, ideal for small meetings or functions up to 300 delegates. Our Lounge and Bar are complimented with a terrace that enjoys views of our idyllic lake to wind away the stresses of the day. Moving into the Raglan's Restaurant you are greeted by wood panels and beautifully relaxing views of the lake. Our award winning Restaurant has been recognised with 2 rosettes and serves only the very freshest Welsh produce, offering a Seasonal menu. A distinctly average experience.

A distinctly average experience. The main issue is that the place is "tired" in that it's crying out for a refurb. You can tell that not much money has been spent on it in recent years. The breakfast service was very stretched and whilst individual staff were fine, they didn't seem to be anyone in control. Good job it was self service even down to the coffee. In summary, a place with a room for the night when passing through but definitely not a destination. And absolutely way over-priced.

The upgrade to Club was extremely

The upgrade to Club was extremely disappointing. First the bedroom did not have a fridge, second the complimentary package was supposed to include fruit which did not eventuate, third the club lounge contained virtually no refreshments, the coffee machine is old and was not able to make a capucino, fourth the rooms are old and tired, fifth the light breakfast included butter but no bread, no toaster, the trollery with the food needed a good clean and on the bottom shelf of the trolley there was a tea bag which looked like it had been there for some time. The only saving grace was that the staff were pleasant, and the bed was comfortable. Would not recommend to anyone and doubt that I will stay at a Copthorne again.

Very helpful staff though we were

Very helpful staff though we were surprised that arriving at 19.30 our room wasn't ready due to a late checkout.....very late! This was resolved quickly. The walls are thin,the bath running next door was easily heard and voices carried too, if I had paid the hotels standard tarrif I would of been disappointed with the room however at £60 for the night it was fine, I suspect their 4 star status is based on facilities as opposed to decor, could do with some updating but was clean and comfortable. Location is ideal for getting into Cardiff by car/bus but it is very close to busy duel carriageway which hummed away all night, again not a huge problem for £60 but if I'd paid £189 would of been a bit peeved. I would stay there again without hesitation but only for the rates available with [this website].
