Description
William the Conqueror gave the Crabwall Manor estate to his nephew in 1077. In 1600 it got its fine red brick frontage, but, like all ancient buildings it's been modernised. Wallow in the wonderful new swimming pool and tuck in to great food in the Conservatory Restaurant, winner of many awards over the years. You may not have a lawn like Crabwall's but then you probably haven't been cutting it for 400 years! Only age brings genuine maturity and you can feel the tranquillity, as if it were wafting through the ancient walls. This is a really lovely setting for important conferences and meetings and if you can spare a couple of days, it's a great setting for exploring the wonders of Chester and its countryside.

Staff very friendly and professional, receptionist on eve of Sat 19th Nov 2011 should get a raise / promotion as my partner and I could not fault her in anyway. Receptionist on Sunday 22nd also very friendly, helpful and professional. Both receptionists were extremely helpful with ideas of where to go, vist, directions etc which was a great help. We wer greeted, acknowledged and made to feel welcome at all times and the service was quick and v efficient. As an ex Duty Manager of Premier Inn I was extremely impressed with the staff at this hotel - they are an assett to the company. Also thankyou to the kind lady at the bar who gave me her hair bobble when I lost mine! Only thing I would say was a disadvantege was the noise that comes from the main road the hotel is on. Will definatley use Days Inn again as we had such a great experience. Once again, many thanks. Pippa and Arran.

If you prefer the bustle of City life, the hotel is 10 minutes from the heart of Chester and only 5 minutes away from one of Britains largest shopping outlets Cheshire Oaks.Set in a rural location there is plenty for those wanting relaxation or if you prefer the Hotel is seven miles away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The city of Chester has a breathtaking heritage stretching back to the Roman times. Among its great treasures from the past are the most complete city walls in Britain, the unique famous rows of medieval shopping galleries, the 900 year old cathedral and the oldest horse racing regatta in the country. The many restaurants, bars and street entertainers will satisfy the most discerning visitor. Quite what turns a good hotel into a great one can be difficult to understand. I had booked two nights at the Best Western Chester based on what appeared to be a lovely hotel in a good location. However, whilst the entrance foyer and the stairwell are lovely, I was not as impressed with the quality of the room. I was accommodated in the old section of the hotel. I understand that the building is an older building, however there is no climate control and when opening the window, I was confronted with the noise from the rail station immediately across from the hotel. On making a cup of coffee, the kettle failed to work and the teaspoon was filthy. Upon contacting reception, I was met with a somewhat apathetic attitude and it took them over an hour to arrange for the kettle and spoon to be replaced. Other sections of the room required attention and housekeeping was generally poor.

i found the bathroom needed a good cleaning as there was black mold around to shower window and trouse press did not work. the service in the bar was very poor as i ordered coffee which came with no milk, the next cup came with no spoon and the last cup they provided biscuits then i had to clear the table myself after waiting an hour for them to clear it As we were attending a wedding the bride had to change rooms twice and one of the bridesmaids and her husband were given a room with a pull down bed
