Surrounded by 500 acres of parkland in the glorious Kent countryside, you'd never guess that Thistle Brands Hatch is just 17 miles by road from the City of London. Close to the M25 and M20, it's also within easy reach of London Heathrow and Gatwick airports, the Channel Tunnel and the new Eurostar terminal at Ebbsfleet. In the glory days of the British Grand Prix, Brands Hatch was the center of the motor-racing universe. The legends who raced here - Clark, Cooper, Brabham, Hill - still lend their names to straights and bends on the famous circuit, which the hotel meeting rooms and many of the bedrooms overlook. 180 free on-site parking spaces. And with the Otium Health & Leisure Club, Thistle Brands Hatch is perfect for a weekend escape, or as a base from which to explore the Garden of England, as well as out-of-town business events.

Just okay

Thistle is rated as a 4 star - I would rate it as a 3 star more like a Holiday Inn Express. Breakfast price outrageous: GBP16 per person - free at HIexpress and better quality. We had room service - okay - meal in restaurant - waited 1 hour for our meal - the answer was: kitchen is busy! Room was okay - beds very hard.

a little apprehensive

I was a little apprehensive as I booked for a party of four friends. The feedback I had read was VERY mixed. We went to see the British Super Bikes and it was perfect accommodation for us, Clean, comfortable, ideally located. Very glad not to have been influenced by the negative reviews I read before booking. Didn't eat there or have time for the leisure centre so can't comment on these aspects.
