Travel Lodge Durham, UK

. The Travel Lodge is a budget hotel. The room was very basic--almost like a college dorm room with a double bed and sleeper. I asked for a hair dryer, as directed on their web page, when we checked in and was given one. The people working in the hotel were friendly and helpful. A key card was needed to get into the area where the rooms are. The hotel is located near Durham University and a 10 to 15 minute walk to the center of town which was perfect for us. I was pleased and would stay again unless I wanted to stay some place "fancy".

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The Indian restaurant, The Capital, has absolutely fantastic Indian food as well as Indian beer. Once into town Capricio's has coffee and friendly service that is "top notch". Their food is also good--paninis, etc.
