Excellent Location!

The Apex City is located very close to Edinburgh castle, delicious restaurants, the royal mile (shopping) and Edinburgh University - these locations were ideal for my stay. I was there for 4 days attending a conference at Edinburgh University and wanted to see some local sights.

Overall was ok, quite well located,

Overall was ok, quite well located, just few minutes walking from Royal Mile, in very lively street. Main complain, breakfast, it is very expensive, considering the many options around the hotel, and it is not a buffet, you need to order and they bring it to you, and there are not many options, we only had breakfast there one day.

Great location

Idael location to venture to all the attractions, bars, restaurants. The welcoming and helpful staff make up for the slight lack of finishes in the room and facilities. Earplugs provided in the rooms as you might get some noise from the street in the evening, but this was no issue for us (coming from London!).

Outstanding Hotel!!!!!!!!!!

We have stayed at hotels in London and Dublin that were rated somewhat high but they did not compare to this one. The room was large and modern with an excellent bed. The bathroom was large and modern with a seperate walk-in shower. There was a vvery large flat screen TV on the wall. It had free computer access in the room plus two free computers for guests. The restaurant was excellent. The front desk staff was excellent as a matter of fact all the staff was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent with many pubs and coffee shops variety stores across the street. You could see Edinburgh Castle rignt across from the front door. It was quite a walk up the hill but was well worth it. We had atrip to Loch Ness ith Greyline tours. The driver was excellent, he had many stories about Scottish history. I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it to anybody if asked.

Unbeatable location for the price

We were within walking distance to the Royal Mile and all the great historical sites and shopping spots. It was also a relatively short walk to the train station. Our favorite restaurant was right across from the hotel. We had a lovely view of the castle from our room and the room itself was very nicely furnished and laid out, though there was some street noise(ear-plugs are provided). Staff were courteous and willing to store luggage for us when we arrived before check-in.We would stay here again.

Happy we stayed there

Our flight from London was delayed, so we arrived just about at check in time. The hotel lobby was tastefully appointed. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We were only spending two days in Edinburgh and the hotel gladly (and safely) stored our luggage the 2nd day while we visited the sights. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The shower was hot and the bathroom was very clean. We'd definitely stay there again.

Had no wifi from day one. Made

Had no wifi from day one. Made three calls to wifi support, and contacted the front desk to no avail. Helpdesk said to use a wired connection, but front desk only had one ethernet cable for the entire hotel: they might want to think about buying more. A bit noisy on the street (not the hotel's fault and they did humorously supply ear plugs) but the view to Edinburgh Castle was very nice, indeed. All in all, not bad.

Good location

The hotel is in a great location for exploring the city. It's fairly noisy in the room when the windows are open, but that is to be expected because you are in such a central location. The room was modern and spacious, nothing really stands out as being exceptional though. But if you are looking for a hotel in a good location, walking distance to the attractions, bars and restaurants, with modern rooms then this is a good choice.
